Inappropriator Cause Conflict In Construction

Contractor is a member in a building project to carry out the actual construction work. Normally, the contractor was hired by the client to carry out the work under term and subject to the goal, quality and cost provision determined by the later pursuant to a contract (Ntiyakuma S.K 2011). Therefore, the contractor is fully responsible for undertaking the project work within time, cost and quality stipulated in the contract. Conflict that cause by the contractor are the poor coordination of sub-contractor, inappropriate construction method, contract award to incapable contractor, poor contract management, scope change or change order by contractor, poor contract management, scope change or change order by contractor and inappropriate coordination

This sub-contractor must be properly coordinated by the Prime contractor to make sure timely delivery or assigned aspect of works. Therefore, the contractor must make that each of the sub-contractor deliver at the stipulated time expected and to specification. Poor coordination of sub-contractor by the contractor will cause the conflict due to the sub-contractor does not complete their work on time which will cause the work progress delay and needed extra cost and time to complete the project(Sunjika B.P. & Jacob U, 2013).

2.6.2.2 Inappropriate Construction Method

During the construction activities, it is necessary to carried out the work by using the best practices and tools. If the worker in construction industry does not using the appropriate construction method to carried out the work an error will occurs leading to rework and delay. Besides, the contractor also has to make sure that works are carried out by using the appropriate construction method but the contractor ignores it (Sunjika B.P. & Jacob U, 2013). The confict occur is because of the unwillingness of the parties to identify or accept the error in the project and blaming the fault on each other.

2.6.2.3 Contract Award to Incapable

The example of scope of change is change in contract price, increase the building area and increase or decrease the number of floor. Change in scope is due to the additional, deletions, omission or change in the work that need to perform. Change is scope may lead to conflict. This is because the contractors intend to avoid the extra cost and will look for the way to reduce the cost. Therefore, the contractor will make change in scope without inform the developer (Al-Dubaisi, 2000).
