“Mr Cornell, sir, there’s a letter here for you.”
His secretary’s voice rang like church bells on a Sunday morning. He smugly pinched the letter from her hands and raised it to a readable distance. Sender read ‘IRS Criminal Investigation Division’, receiver read ‘Cornell Fabricators’. His heart sank and his stomach churned. It took him a while to open the envelope although upon conclusion he tore it open like a kid would do to a candy wrapper to reveal the letter.
‘TAXPAYER, Cornell Fabricators is being investigated for tax fraud for deliberately understating revenue on its annual tax returns – thereby lessening the company’s tax liability. According to our records, ‘Cornell Fabricators’ have been avoiding paying corporate tax to the IRS

After adjusting his glasses, he questions Wynter.
“Well then could you shed some light on the missing revenue in this business? Revenue most definitely flowed through this company however it’s not all accounted for.”
Wynter instantly responds to the agents questions, like a child would respond to their parent’s question.
“Well I hate entering electronic payments because I’m a paper person, so since there wasn’t a physical cheque I didn’t enter it into the book…but the money’s there.”
“You’re not allowed to do that.” said the agent, confused at what Wynter had just said.
“I think I am, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.” she laughs at her response; however, it doesn’t last long as the Agent’s stern face is an indication that she should treat this more seriously.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a paper cheque or an electronic cheque, income is income, you’re not allowed to not declare it. Can I ask how did you get your qualifications, have you had any training?”
“Well I haven’t had any training, but I’ve always been a natural with
SRT1720 Description: EC50: 0.16 μM SRT1720 is a selective activator of SIRT1. Previous in vitro and in vivo studies using various cancer cell models show the role of SIRT1 either as an oncogene or a tumour suppressor gene. The oncogenic potential of SIRT1 is exemplified by studies indicating that blockade of SIRT1, like other HDACs, triggers growth arrest and apoptosis in breast, colon and lung cancers.

In life some feel the need to prove something to others. That they are better, stronger, or even more intelligent. Whatever the case may be people will go through extreme measures to prove themselves. But who do we really need to prove anything to? Is it our parents?
In today’s society, we have former National Football League(NFL) quarterback Collin Kapernick who’s no longer in the NFL because of his protest against racial inequality. However, many people believe he is no longer in the NFL because of his talent. Kapernick led the 49ers to Super Bowl 47. Although they didn’t win, he threw for 302 yards with a touchdown and rushed for 62 yards. Therefore, he didn’t get kicked out of the league because he wasn’t good enough, but for sitting down during the national anthem.

The cool air swoops in and out behind me as the door slams close. Immediately I feel the pressure of hundreds of eyes glaring at me. I glide my feet down the school hallway, secretly hoping that today will be different. Today I can avoid all the drama and pain. I arrive at my locker and open it, only for it to be shut a second later by the wannabee herself Ms. Amber Jones.
Decisions made in the 1850s ultimately decided the United States fate. From the election of 1856 to the Dred Scott case, the nation would become divided into two. The South was pro-slavery and supported the idea of slavery expanded into western territories, while the North opposed of the idea and was mainly against expanding slavery. Until the 1850s the nation barely balanced the slavery issue.
Chris McCandless was in his early 20’s, he was the kind of that guy that wanted to learn and experience life without all of the material things. He wanted to be independent from his parents and friends so Chris did something that would be insane for most of us humans but to him, it wasn’t. He went into the wild of Alaska for months, in fact, McCandless even thought he could make it out alive at the end of his journey. As a matter of fact, he was known as being a risk taker and enjoyed being out and about in the nature side of the world. Many would believe that Chris McCandless went into the wild to purposely kill himself; however, I myself believe that McCandless did not do it purposely.
I wake up every morning only to see burn holes in my bed. As I slide out of bed, I wobble towards the staircase to make some breakfast. I’ll admit it, I am a waste of my freedom. I have no job, no fun memories, no family, no purpose, and most of all, no friends. Someone needs to come into my life to lift me up from my nicotine-ridden lifestyle.
The machine went crazy. I clearly remember the examiner jumping up from the machine and yelling, “you took that money!” His certainty convinced even me, because after all, he was an authority figure. He must know the truth. I had “failed” the polygraph, unlike all the other employees.

“Nervous?” “Very,” Adam replies honestly. “Will I be alright on my own?” Adam asks.
It took just forty five days for United States citizens to acquiesce their rights to freedom and privacy for the sake of safety following the events of September 11, 2001. Forty five days is how long it took the United States Congress to pass a law that gave up the very concept of liberty upon which this country is founded. The morning sky was a brilliant shade of blue with not a cloud in sight in New York on that fateful day of September. That all changed at 8:45 AM when a Boeing 767 jet plane tore into the north tower of the World Trade Center. Eighteen minutes later, a second Boeing 767 bit into the sixtieth floor of the south tower.
