Our country is plagued by many catastrophic, socio-economic issues like poverty, terrorism, illiteracy and corruption. The involvement of the youth in overcoming these problems is of great importance. But sadly, youngsters have been caught in cases of misdeeds. Recently, in Delhi, five young men were convicted for thrashing an Air force officer for overtaking the latter’s car. Two engineering students were held on charges of snatching mobiles and chains from women in posh areas of the city because they wanted to have a flashy lifestyle but did not have the money. Police claimed to have arrested over 38 youngsters hailing from well-to-do families and good educational background on different charges like pick-pocketing, auto-lifting and chain/mobile or purse snatching this year alone. From graduates to post-graduates, educated youth have been involving in crime to enjoy their lives. If the police records are …show more content…
House is the first learning environment for the child and parents are the first teachers. They not only guide the child in its progressive path but also demonstrate the appropriate behavior by their actions. Thus, the quality of value education can be enhanced by involvement of parents. Educational institutions should encourage parent associations wherein parents can have representatives and put forward the issues and the institution takes it up seriously. The attitude of teachers and how they interact affects in the personality building of students to a great extent. Teachers should make students realize that being a good person is more important than getting a seat in a prestigious institution. Education should teach that along with success, the path taken to reach success is equally important. Students must be made aware that there is no shortcut to success and hard work is the only key to success. One cannot attain success without proper values. Cheating, fraud and dishonesty never works in the longrun of
The Salvation Army organization began in England, in1865, by William and Catherine Booth (The Salvation Army). Before the start of the Salvation Army William Booth walked the streets of London, England preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the poor, hungry, homeless and less fortunate. (Walker, 2001) The formation of the Salvation Army began due to the church leaders having disagreements with Booth by not participating in the traditional methods of the conventional concepts of the church (Walker, 2001). The Salvation Army began with Booth and his wife holding series of evangelistic meetings and services in set up tents.
Moreover, the young men desire to get education and pursue their interests. However, they do not have many options for their educations because they come from poor families. They face mass incarceration. Some young men parents were sent to jail. These young men are forced to handle with stigma and damage associated with drug problems and family members’ incarceration.
A young student in today’s society has been taught about earning their college degree and further education. With this education young students have the thinking that high class and have much respect. In fact, people equally hard for earning that degree. Also, in earning this degree parents invest a lot of money towards that high education. There is nothing wrong with getting a high degree.
We have seen today in society of how crime rates have been rampant and how statistics show that most of the crimes were being made by minors. I believe that when most of them look at the bottom of these young offenders come disproportionately from impoverished single-parent homes that are located in the neighbourhoods desinvertido and have high rates of learning disabilities, mental health, and substance abuse and problems with the help of the system of juvenile justice that can make a great return on a successful transition to adulthood. Their ages ranged from 20 and under, most are under fifteen years of age. Juveniles tried as adults must assume the same consequences as any other criminal and are subject to state prisons with inmates much higher and that have probably committed crimes much more tortuous then you could ever have. These minors between the ages of nine to twenty according to the offence committed or of the number of times that are prosecuted and believe that it is immutable.
This paper discusses the theories in radical criminology which contributes core understanding of the youth crime. Furthermore, the nature and extent of youth crime as well as the impact it had on the response of the criminal justice system is critically evaluated. Crime and Criminal Justice System According to McAra and McVie (2010) rupturing of any law and regulation is recognised as crime which may be minor as well as severe. It is said that the administration or establishments generally make laws and commandments that the people of the state
Youth crime in Canada has decreased overall but that does not mean crime has disappeared as there are cases where youths. Studies have shown that the “typical” method of justice, through incarceration has not made a huge impact on juvenile offenders ( S.M. Tarolla et al. 127). Which makes this topic so important because if young offenders are not given the right help and treatment they could continue onto the adult criminal justice system. Furthermore, if there is a way to identify recidivism, and provide help for young offenders then we would be adhering to the goals of the criminal justice system which is to rehabilitate and put people back into society as productive peoples.
Students not only need to gain the knowledge for the field that they will be working in, but more importantly they need the knowledge of basic life skills on how to think and react to life experiences. It is important for people to understand that knowledge is power, and knowing that it’s not all about you is one of the best realizations one can have. We are all here to collectively work together for some type of common goal. No one person is more valuable than the other. So the next time we are waiting in line in Walmart, we shouldn’t be cursing about how the cashier is too slow, or that they need to open more lines because we are in a hurry.
Because of this students will do try for good grades in order to satisfy their parents instead of doing it for themselves to be more
Today, there is a high percentage in trouble in teens. In our generation, most of the youth make decisions without thinking about the consequences of their actions. I believe that teenagers don’t think about consequences in high-pressure situations, don’t think with illegal actions, and don’t think when it comes to posting on the internet. When it comes to high-pressured situations, young adults tend to pay no attention to the outcome of their actions. When a stressful or emergency comes along, teens often forget about the important things, such as self-safety.
Juvenile delinquency is a growing social problem in the world today, as worldwide, about 200,000 murders occur among youth 10–29 years of age each year (more than 500 deaths a day), which is 43% of the total number of murders globally each year (WHO, 2016). It is defined as major or minor law breaking (e.g. murder, rape, robbery, and theft) by youth (Berger, 2000) and the United Nations defines ‘youth’, as those persons between the ages of 15 and 24 years. Consequently, juvenile delinquency is a critical problem in the society, which could lead to social instability by violence and insecurity perpetrated by and against young people. These problems are caused by various influential factors ranging from peer and parental influences, environmental, and strain. It also affected by family process variables (e.g. parent-child involvement, communication, parental monitoring), indeed parenting is one of the important factors among them.
Treatment rather than Punishment Thesis Statement: Children, as innocents and infantile, are unconsciously doing unwanted acts that may violate our laws, therefore insufficient guidance from family, environmental factors syndicates, poverty and problem on education, which are the main rationales for their involvement on crimes should be given corresponding solution by the government. INTRODUCTION Juvenile delinquency means that a youth specifically those who are below 18 years old commits an act that is against the law. It can also be used as legal term for the criminal behavior carried out by minors. According to UNICEF, an average of 10, 500 minors are being arrested and detained every year – about 28 children every day, or more
In recent years, the average age for first arrest has dropped significantly, and younger boys and girls are committing crimes. Between 60-80%
EFFECTS OF PARENTS AND TEACHERS INTRACTION ON DELOPMENT OF EARLY CHILDHOOD STUDENTS IN MIANWALI 1.1 Introduction: The importance of good parent-teacher relationships has been well documented. Research has shown that parent involvement in education benefits not only the child but also the parents and teachers (Eldridge, 2001). The function of a good parent-teacher relationship is much more than just like a vehicle for status reports from teacher to parents on a child’s performance.
As a teacher, it is my responsibility to share information on the development of the child and have a clear and constant flow of dialogue with the family. This will enable both parties to deal with any issues that may arise within the family, school or community. It also my belief that parents should have an active part in their child’s learning and be able to lend a hand whenever necessary, and having open communication with them will allow this transparency and connection between home and school. The community is vital in ensuring that the facilities around the community and school is appropriate for the different children and families to live in and grow. A very good example of this successful collaboration is the Reggio Emilia approach in Italy.
But, among all the above factors, the teacher has the most important role for efficient and quality learning. Markley (2011) stated that Good and qualified teachers are essential for efficient functioning of educational systems and for enhancing the quality of learning. A good teacher and actions to be taken on his part in the classroom play a vital role in provoking effective and efficient learning on the part of the students. Parents trust their children to be taught and educated at school, to be hoped that they will become good and qualified human beings. A teacher takes an important role in motivating the students to get their success in their life.
