I want to be a part of the Cougar Counseling Team because I think I would be a valuable asset to the team. I want to help spread positivity and help others through their college experience to make their time at College of Charleston enjoyable. I like to think I am a positive role model who can encourage and support others who seek out help. I have always been the friend that others seem to come to when they need someone to express their feelings. When my friend recommended that I should be a part of the team, I did research on what the team did in the college community and instantly wanted to be a part of this ground-breaking team.
I feel like communication skills and being comfortable with many views are both great necessary qualities to have when dealing with a diverse college campus. I am very open minded and respect other people’s views even though they might not agree with my views. I possess great social skills and find myself very personable. I get along well with multiple different people which I think would be a great addition to the counseling team. While in college, I have demonstrated my

The people who need it most may not know where they can get help; I would like to change that aspect. I would encourage the team to market more and spread the word about this great service. Maybe set up events where refreshments are served to help bond with the campus, spread positivity, and encourage visits. The team could host social events, do tables in the Cougar Mall, or host a contest. I want every student at the College of Charleston to not feel intimated to seek out help and more importantly know where they can get help. This team is an amazing program, that more people need to be aware of its existence. I would be honored if I could be a part of the Cougar Counseling Team and be able to help the students that need it as well as spread positivity among the student
BACKGROUND NCAA Team Works represents the ongoing community outreach efforts of the NCAA National Office staff, partners and local organizations. The Team Works brand was developed in 2012 with the goal of providing an umbrella brand to encompass all NCAA community outreach efforts. The NCAA has a corporate and social responsibility throughout the communities in which we host championships. Through initiatives such as service learning projects, school engagement, legacy restorations, and disaster relief, NCAA Team Works engages youth and communities that might not have the opportunity to attend the championship, but participate in activities tied to those events. Specific NCAA Team Works projects include youth clinics, backpack and school
Three services in my community are Meals on Wheels, several classes and support groups (I will only talk about one: Stepping On), and Memory Cafes. All of these services are through the ADRC and are proven to be very helpful. The Meals on Wheels program serve 50,000 meals per year and is continuing to grow. This program is available on a long-term or temporary basis and is for people that are recovering from a surgery or illness.
I served on the executive board as we worked through our probation, and now I want to help lead our chapter as we take the final steps to get our probation status removed. After much consideration, I do believe I have many qualities that make me a good candidate for Vice President of Programming and Ritual. I have the skills and experience to help run this chapter effectively and help us get our
It is my desire to become a member of Kappa Lambda Chi Military Fraternity, Inc., to once again have the brotherhood and comradery that I was able to experience while in the Army. Promoting the values, lesson and knowledge I attained during my military service as wells as those set forth in Kappa Lambda Chi’s mission, is something I encourage when mentoring children on daily basis in my job as a school resource officer. My current position allows me to interact with people from all walks of life, providing me with an avenue to inspire those around me. Becoming a member of Kappa Lambda Chi enables me to further my personal knowledge, while being another avenue for me to impart wisdom, promote fidelity and encourage high ambition to today’s youth
It would be amazing to meet new students and encourage them to attend not on The University of Alabama, but also make the Culverhouse College of Commerce their academic home. It is so important to invest in the lives of others, and you never know what impact you can have on a life. By simply being an ambassador, I have the ability to greatly impact someone’s future career. I struggled with choosing a major, and I understand how difficult of a process it can be. I am sure that if I toured Culverhouse initially it would have been my first choice.
I want to be a junior counselor for the 2016 MASH camp because I have done MASH camp before and have had a lot of fun. I was a junior counselor last year and I really enjoyed helping the campers and anyone who needed help. I also want to be a junior counselor because I believe it will help me become a better leader and help me learn new ways I can lead people. I should be selected as a 2016 junior counselor because as I said in the previous paragraph I have done MASH camp before and think that I would be a good junior counselor.
According to Walden University’s School of Counseling (2023), students that are suited for the counseling profession must demonstrate these dispositions consistently. During my training and education to become a professional counselor I plan to engage with my professors and apply the feedback that they give me so that I can better develop the skills that I need to be able to demonstrate professional dispositions. I also plan to gain more knowledge that will help me to understand how my biases may affect others, how I can be attentive to others’ feelings and experiences, and how I can engage in self-reflection so that I can effectively apply any feedback that I
I can contribute my knowledge of social justice and ability to be a community servant to this organization. My long-term life goal is to become a hospital owner in multiple underrepresented areas and foreign countries. Being a community servant, one can build character while helping open doors or provide opportunities for those who are less fortunate. I’ve read the many articles of the large groups of Alpha men graduating from Meharry Medical College, that have had such a huge impact on the surrounding communities by giving a helping hand when needed. It’s the small things that count and makes me eager to join the previous groups of male leaders striving to achieve their goals, which defy all odds against
The counselor I plan to interview for my final project is Ms. T, a Mental health counselor in Virginia. Relevant Information Ms. T Is a Licensed Professional counselor, with a Master’s degree in Arts. Specialties in which Ms. T treats includes: Trauma and PTSD, Anxiety, Marital and Premarital issues. In addition to her specialties, she also treats addiction, Borderline personality, Codependency, Coping skills, depression, divorce, sexual abuse suicidal ideation and Women’s issues (smith,2015n.d.). Ms. T also counsels adolescents from ages 14 to 19 and adults.
I also believe that my time as a student ambassador on the LSUA campus and as a nursing student in clinical has allow me to gain the experience that I need in the leadership role. These are all qualities that I hope to bring with me if I am granted membership.
It happened five years ago as I sat in a crowded library study room with my fellow classmates at the University of Sheboygan in Sheboygan, WI. We were studying for our final exams for one of the toughest classes we had ever taken. What is this class you might be asking yourself? The class I am referring to is an Introduction to Psychology. After weeks of hard work and dedication I passed this challenging class with an A. This was one of my proudest achievements.
Resident Assistants serve many purposes and play many roles in the community. They help to build and promote a supportive and active community within their residence hall and across the campus, and offer support and guidance to their residents. This aids in making Geneseo feel more like home and a community rather than simply a school. RAs enforce Geneseo and Department of Student Life rules, while also being a more easily accessible and less intimidating resource to other students in need of help. I want to be an RA so that I can become more involved in the Geneseo community in a positive way, by helping and representing other students.
Not only do these clubs recognize academic excellence, they also provide many opportunities for community service. Blood drives, food drives and Operation Christmas Child are only a few of the projects that we participate in throughout the year. I am
I am not the most social person, but generally have joy in being with people. I feel OU would be a great environment for me because of
By the age of 26 I want to open up a young leader camp. This camp will open up in Winter Park Florida. The purpose of this camp is to give young kids the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a leader and how to work in a team. You have to be a team player before you can become a team leader, so the camp will be done in levels or classes. The first thing students will be required to do is read the Five Dysfunctions of Team by Patrick Lencioni.
