Courage is the ability to do something that frightens someone to do. Cassie Logan from the book Roll of Thunder hear my Cry by Mildred D. Taylor is a very courageous person despite the challenges and injustices she faces as a coloured person. Cassie proves her courage by standing up for Little Man in school, going to the Wallaces store after being told not to, and digging a ditch to stop the bus. Cassie is a very sassy and outspoken little girl, that loves her family and her land. She tries to show people that blacks are just as good as whites despite all the consequences that may come.
In Shirley Jackson's story “Charles”, a realistic fiction story. The main character Laurie is starting his first day of kindergarten. Laurie’s parents starts noticing that Laurie is being bad and comes home with stories of this kid named Charles and how bad he is in school. Also Laurie’s mother is worried that kindergarten is too difficult for him. Something that this story teaches its readers is that people can not just assume anything about other people.
Courageous Character Courage means when you are able to do something or stand up for someone or something, despite when people say that you shouldn't do it, or when you know there will be consequences for doing the right thing. Stacey’s and T.J.’s friendship is so strong and important to Stacey that he wouldn’t even tell on his friend after he was whipped. Then, Stacey chased T.J. to the Wallace store. Behind the Wallace store Stacey and T.J. started getting in a fist fight.
Everyone has courage inside of them they just have to show it. Roll of thunder hear my cry introduces Cassie,a young girl who is willing to go above and beyond to fight the injustice of segregation, and to face her broadest fears. Cassie Logan has many courageous moments in this book but the three most challenging moments are standing up to Lillian Jean, Standing up for little man, and standing up for herself at the barnett store. Through Cassie´s actions she has proved she loves her family, loves the land, and knows that segregation is NOT RIGHT. She knows that equal rights is not an option in that day and age, but she will still try to make a difference in the world.
With the many flashbacks in the story, one of the most important ones was, “not teaching the truth” when Mama was being accused of not teaching the truth, yet she was talking about slavery. At another time in the novel, another vivid memory reminds Mama when she was arguing with the principal. She strongly remembers, when he brought up the fact that Mama had covered up the insides of the books. This was because Mama didn’t want to upset the black kids by seeing how people really treat them. But the administration saw it as trying to hide the truth.

In the novel, Roll of Thunder Hear my Cry by Mildred Taylor she uses Stacey Logan. He is a very brave boy who has come up with smart plans so he can stand up for what he believes in and his family. Even though Stacey faced many struggles the main ones were when he came up with the idea to break down the bus, he walked T.J home even though T.J. had been a terrible friend to the Logans, and Stacey stayed and watched what happen when the Wallaces went to the Averys to make sure nothing bad happened to him. Stacey 's actions proved that he was a very brave and smart boy, who loved his family and that he was willing to fight for the land and do whatever he could to help save it even willing to take consequences for it.
Taylor, describe the life of a african american girl named Cassy and her brothers Stacy, T. J., and Little Man. The walk to school in their best dressed clothing and their splashed by mud from the school bus in the morning. When they arrive to school they're excited about the fact that they are using textbooks but once the find out that the textbooks have already been used, they are furious that they already used by the white school. feeling that this is unfair, Cassy starts to go up against the teacher and complain why the have to use already used textbooks rather than sing new ones. "was something that wavered between the known and the unknown and to mention it outright...was not wise."

Wang Lung was surprised to hear that then reason that his son was misbehaving was because of women. O-lan suggested getting him a slave, however, his father would not allow that. Ever since Rosemary was little, her dad Joseph was always comparing her to her brother and since she was his first daughter but third child he expected her to be as intelligent as her siblings and she was pretty much looked upon by her father as a special needs child. Rosemary was not like normal people and was seen to be irregular just like the women in flatland. Also in flatland, the women were not aloud to go to school because they were thought of as not that smart enough to attend school.
