My profile essay is going to be over Delta Sigma Theta Mu Sorority Inc. I will be talking about the history, benefits, and interesting facts. I will be interviewing a sister from the sorority to get personal facts and experiences they have encountered. I will be writing my essay in first person because this is a rather important essay to me.
“Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise, I rise, I rise.,” to become a Delta Woman. When asked to express why I should be awarded the honor & pleasure of being apart this great sorority; I must admit I was a bit overwhelmed but also very humbled. However, I am reminded of the great women Delta Sigma Theta has helped mold some of the most influential women in the world. I want to be apart of the most illustrious sorority organization.

After her college career she aspires to continue to work with the adolescents in impoverished areas while working in school settings and participating in Community work. One of her main aspirations is to start her own non- profit organization geared towards young females. Asia truly believes that all ladies are queens with the assistance to reach their full potential.

She was a female activist, One of Nellie 's best influences was her mom. Her family 's influence was not a doubt the reason she became an activist. Her mom thought that every child had the right to an education, and her hole family encouraged her to learn all she could.
Her personal experience is socially and theoretically constructed and emotions play an essential role in the process of identity formation. Her identity is not fixed, which is portrayed by inquisitiveness that her own mother and Aunt thought she was possessed, enhanced and made this story an enriching experience. Bella Abzug received a degree in Law from Columbia University in 1947 and then worked at Jewish theological Seminary of America. Bella spent a lot of time to help fight for women 's rights. My goal with my college degree is to graduate with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and eventually transition into law school within the state of Georgia. After law school, I plan to become a juvenile and immigration attorney in hopes of one day becoming a positive influence and defender for those without a voice. However, as a first generation college student, financially speaking attending college has not been easy. Surviving college would have been impossible without the support of my mother.
An individual’s character is created from their personal successes, achievements, experiences, failures and life situations. I personally could start out by saying here is a story of an addict who ultimately got herself together after 16 years of addiction to drugs, except that is not what defines me. However, that is part of my story a small part, nonetheless it has a place in my history. Moving forward, today the titles I carry is wife, mother and a student. Being a mom has been my favorite title above all, even with the challenges that has come with it.
Starting college is a stressful process and a big change. College students worry about meeting tons of people and making new friends. Some students decide to go through sorority recruitment in order to find lifelong friends and sisters. Others go through recruitment to find people who accept them for being unique. College students find their home when finishing sorority recruitment.
Like plenty of other girls, I never saw myself joining a sorority. I also lacked the self-esteem to believe that I would actually receive a bid from any sorority. However, in my first semester of being a freshman; I decided to participate in fall recruitment. Upon receiving a bid for Alpha Sigma Tau, I immediately felt a change taking place within myself.
