Creativity plays a central role in stimulating economic growth in cities, regions and advanced capitalist economies in general (Stam, Jong & Marlet, 2008). However, the development of a nation does not solely depend on the improvement of the nation’s economy but also on the improvement of the total well-being of the citizens; emotionally, physically, socially, mentally and spiritually. The various sub-fields of creative arts play an important role in improving the total well-being of citizens of a nation. After all, it is impossible to develop a nation without the individuals or citizens. This paper seeks to prove that creative arts are the anchor of national development.

These employment avenues create means for individuals and organizations to contribute to national development by paying taxes or income to the government. The architects, the artists, the actors, sculptors, film and music industries, photographers, etc., are individuals who contribute to the economy of the country. Considering the wide range of employers in the creative arts field, there is no doubt that more contribution made to the economy of a country comes from the creative arts sector.
According to the International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers(CISAC), 2015):
The study analyses 11 Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) sectors: advertising, architecture, books, gaming, movies, music, newspapers/magazines, performing arts, radio, television, and visual arts. In science and engineering, you get to think outside the box and make your own inventions. This field has the highest paying professions in the world. This means they contribute immensely to the revenue gained by the government. In the health sector, individuals are catered for so they can remain healthy and also release any stress they have. This sector also has high-paying professionals who contribute to the economy of a country. However, in these two sectors, I have mentioned, the various fields of creative arts are being applied in them. Let us take Computer science for example. In trying to solve world problems, algorithms are used. Different codes can be used to solve one problem and yet they differ. This is basically because of creativity; how one is able to think differently from another. Some website developers are able to perform better than others not because the other people’s website does not solve the problem but it based on how creative they are. This
