Creative Writing: Blood Brothers

The power station was heavily guarded, three snorpians and nine servants were there at all times. Brock had so far failed to get close enough to it to determine how it worked, but from what he could see he doubted it had been built on Morpheus. The only thing he knew for certain, was that it was the sole source of power for the barrier and the stunners the snorpians carried. He had deduced that the power that it produced was limited, there were no lights or other powered equipment in the entire compound.
A snorpian walked up behind him and said, “Nothing to do human?”
Brock jumped and turned to face the creature. “I've completed my assigned tasks for the day sir.”
“What's your name human?”
“Badger sir.”
“Come with me Badger.”

Brock lied, “Yesterday sir.”
“Good.” The snorpian handed him a small device with a hose on it. “See that machinery over there Badger. This small device is used to remove accumulated dust particles.”
The snorpian flipped a switch on the device and it began purring and Brock jumped and tried to hand it back to the snorpian.
The snorpian took it back and shook his head, “Primitives, the least little unfamiliar thing and you're frightened. It won't hurt you, watch.”
The snorpian sucked a cobweb out of the corner of the room with the end of the hose and handed it back to Brock.
“Take it over there to the power station and use it to clean up all the dust, dirt and cobwebs you can find. Do you understand?”
“Yes sir, I'll get right on it then sir.” Brock answered.
Providence had smiled upon Brock, he was able to explore every nook and cranny of the power station. His best guess was that it was powered by some sort nuclear ion cells, now if he could just figure out how to sabotage it beyond repair, he could take down the force field and limit their stunners to the power stored in the devices themselves.
