Communication

It is often thought that communication only exist two ways between ourselves and external parties, as represented by the two heads. However, on a subconscious level (and even more critically), I need to communicate with myself more. Developing self-awareness, goal planning, etc are ways to communicate to yourself. This benefits us by improving our overall mental wellbeing. I neglect this fundamental step and often find myself lost amongst my thoughts (shown by the maze in the picture). Like the countless strands of hair floating in a haphazard manner, it represents me feeling overwhelmed because I am not effectively communicating my thoughts. Hence I ought to be capable of communicate both externally and internally.
Furthermore, communication is also critical when working in a team. Aside transmitting instructions and ideas, a conducive environment forms, acting as a catalyst for employees to forge and maintain relationships. On a larger scale, it brings about a plethora of benefits like helping to translate espoused values into enacted value.

Contrary to common belief, creativity is a skill that can be developed and honed through constant practicing. With this idea in mind, I will be implementing “A Project A Day” which focuses working on a short project every day to develop creativity. Every week, a theme will be generated and there will be a restriction of one hour to develop solutions to a simple problem. It will then be uploaded on a blog to record my progress. For example, theme would be workplace issues and a problem would be employees stealing food from the fridge. By doing this, in the long run I hope to be more effective at creative
