How to become a criminal profiler Have you ever wondered what it takes, the science and psychology behind catching serial killers, murderers, child abductors, serial rapist and America’s most wanted criminals? There is a special job made to catch these gruesome criminals, it takes years of experience as well as having intelligence in the Psychology field. This specific job is called criminal profiling. A criminal profiler occupies the intersection of Psychology and law-enforcement. Step number one: would be to receive your high school diploma for all four years. Step number two: would be commit to a college and get a bachelor’s degree in psychology, criminal justice, Forensics, or any related fields to this job. This step is very important because to be able to work in the behavioral analysis unit in the FBI you have to have at least a bachelor’s degree to apply. Schooling is a very big role in achieving this job title, so while pursuing a bachelor’s degree the goal and step three would be stay dedicated and get the best grades you can. It may take a couple weeks or up to many years to get accepted into the FBI. The last step is considered to be a waiting game, this is why gaining experience and having the background of attending a law enforcement Academy importance comes into play. While you are in this waiting game to see if you get excepted into the FBI or not you can continue to pursue a career in this field but just not at a federal level yet. If or once you are accepted you will have to go through training and intense background checks to be certified.
