“... Everything is possible for the person who has faith.” (Mark 9:23) this is one of the verses that personally helps me to reach what I dreamed to achieve. People who attend college face different challenges. Some may have to financially support their own while they study, others may have to adjust to multiple cultures and orientation and let themselves be vulnerable to learn new and different things from the people surrounding them, little may have to stress themselves with their projects and research study; to name a few. I may be fortunate for I have not considered the preceding circumstances as my major problem but as I have stated our problems are as unique as we are. I took Bachelor of Science in Criminology for the reason that I want to be a spy. I never knew the nature of Criminology until I was educated that Criminologists are supposed to be scientists. Criminology is a branch of social science that studies crimes and criminals; thus, Criminologists are social scientists that analyze what causes crime to happen and depict what makes a person criminal. However, in the Philippines, majority of the public sees Criminology students as future police officers. I personally consider this as a challenge and a burden as well because the more we hope to advance our knowledge and skills to be competent social scientists the more we are labeled to be brave police officers. I do not underrate police officers, as a matter of fact, I respect and salute their profession. The matter is the public tries to contain us in a box and tells us that the sole profession we can have is policing. We are also grateful to the people used by our Almighty Father who surround us. We are thankful to our family and parents who continually support and understand us and for always being there when nobody else was, to our instructors and mentors who share with us their knowledge and push us to grow holistically, to our friends who are always ready to listen to the words beneath our smiles and frowns, to random people who make us smile and laugh, and to some people who hurt us in peculiar ways.
