For this critical reflection, I will objectively evaluate the process of the whole project. On this podcast, I started with three ideas: firstly, as a result of overpopulation in China, the government has adopted family planning, and now there is a trend of population aging. If the government continue to adopt family planning, the population will be less and less, resulting in labor shortage. if the government abolished family planning, China may once again face excessive saturation of the population. What measures will the Chinese Government take to deal with such social situations? Secondly, as a result of economic globalization, leading to a substantial price rise in China, the gap between rich and poor in China gradually increased. What …show more content…
We can get ideas for interview material from a case of sources. There will be news or press releases from charities, pressure groups, central and local government departments, etc (Beaman, 2000). After getting feedback from the tutor and classmates, I finally determined that the angle of my podcast was: what is the influence of Brexit on students studying in the UK. This angle is not only paying attention to international students, but also paying attention to the British students and EU students. Then I need to determine the interviewees. I would interview several people from different countries about what they think of Brexit to make a VOX POP. I need to interview some British students, EU students, international students as well. The most important interviewee is an expert who can give me some professional opinions about Brexit. For purpose of interview, I have to find story’s reference and find a person to communicate with me, but don’t forget that I can be told that everything may be worth to follow. I have to find out the information with other sources as well to verify that the real situation are proper. I should criticism my reference selection, and I should carefully assess the authority of reference. Before I enter the stage of recording or broadcast interviews, I can through careful planning and research process easier (ibid). If I do not investigate validly, are uncertain about my real situation, or do not know the arguments of the other party, maybe I can not challenge the views of my interviewees (ibid). Before the interview, there were some things I need to do with the interviewees. Firstly, illustrate the reason why I need to interview them. Secondly, tell them who will be carrying out the interview and for which program. Thirdly, establish whether the interview will be in the studio, via
3). The people would work hard yet earn little only because the high class chose to keep the money rather than distributing it, taking a lot and giving back little. China would resort to loan sharks, only putting them deeper in debt due to not being able to paying back all the debts with their little earnings (Doc. 5). With the increase of the world silver production, it only caused the Europeans to grow selfish with their earnings. The Portuguese would buy all of Japan’s silver and goods, taking advantage of the trade of luxury (Doc. 4).
This gap can account for the decrease in demand for goods because a majority of the population was too poor to afford enough food to feed their families, they certainly could not afford the luxurious items that had been associated with the 20’s. People were barely making enough to survive, as seen in the first hand account from a mother who brings home $9.95 a week. The family detailed in this account makes a total of $22.80 a week with two people working full time jobs (Document 7). When a majority of Americans can barely afford to live, they won’t be able to feed the economy which can, and did, lead to the Great
Mao Zedong, one of the most influential leaders in Chinese history, once said that, “Of all the things in the world, people are the most precious.” One of the biggest problems that he faced was the growing population of China. At first, he discouraged birth control, but when the growth rate was growing astronomically, Mao introduced “Late, Long and Few.” When even this was not slowing down the population growth, China implemented a one-child policy. It allowed for the Chinese population to have one child, and was far more harmful than beneficial to China.
The speech was given to a group of people attending the Sixth International Neo-Malthusian and Birth Control Conference, a conference on the topics of birth control and population control. In front of an audience that praised and disagreed with her ideas, Sanger spoke using many rhetorical devices to guarantee a spark to the senses of every audience member listening. Too many babies wasn’t just a problem for mothers, but for the whole world. Sanger approached the ideas of overpopulation, abortions, women 's choice, and the
What China was trying to achieve with the One Child Policy was fix a problem they had caused in the first place, when, Mao Zedong, encouraged having more children to have more future workers, and discouraged the use of birth controls (Intro). The One Child Policy came into place in 1980, effected the ethnicity of Han Chinese and was definitely not one of China’s best ideas. It caused many hardships for the citizens of China. The policy was unnecessary for many of three reasons: the fertility rate was already dropping, there is a huge gender and age imbalance, as well as it is to blame for some of the youth’s social issues. From 1970 to 1979 there was a big reduction in fertility rates in China from 5.8 to 2.7, which was prior to the One
So, it is quite easy to see that the pattern of population dynamics or the makeup of populations based on age and size in China. Most young adults can be found in cities working to earn money for their young children and parents in suburbs and countrysides. Meanwhile, their
1. Introduction Income inequality has grown significantly during this past decades and this phenomenon continues to increase over the years. This problem is constantly discussed in the daily news all around the world. Several consequences of this increase of inequality between people leads to economic problems such as high unemployment rates, lack of work for young people, fall of demand for certain product. The gap between rich and poor is increasing, the rich are richer and the poor are poorer as a result politicians and economists try to adopt certain policies in order to reduce this gap.
Genre analysis is an approach that attempts to examine the lexico-grammatical tendencies and patterns for particular genres, incorporating discourse analysis and corpus analysis. According to this definition, we gathered 3 exemplars of celebrity interview in order to analyze them using the following criteria. 2.1. Context of Production As it was mentioned before, we are part of this ‘interview society’.
Rather than reducing social and economic inequality, China’s rapid economic growth magnifies the gap of benefits received by people in different socio-economic groups. As we will see, social and economic inequality are two sides of the same coin and is not solely the product of economic development. In addition to pure market forces, state policies play a significant role in contributing to the high levels of inequality China experiences nowadays. Despite the government’s concern towards inequality, recent interventions are not sufficiently targeted at the main causes of this issue which result in the continuing climb of China’s inequality figure. Nevertheless, contrary to conventional wisdom, the threat of inequality to China’s social and

For centuries, China has been one of the most populated nations on Earth. In the past century, China has implemented new policies to limit the population growth, with the most famous one being the One Child Policy. In the past, Mao Zedong encouraged large families and abortions and contraception was outlawed. Naturally, this caused a surge in population. After his death, Deng Xiaoping decided that the population would have to be curbed if China wanted to achieve economic growth.
Overpopulation Overpopulation is a condition that is undesirable. Overpopulation is one of the problems that people concern it to. One of the serious countries facing this problem is China. Reports in China show that it has about 1.4 billion people in this country; it takes about one over seven people of the world population. China is the third largest land after Russia and Canada in the world.
China implemented a one child policy to alleviate social and environmental problems. This did initially prevent 400 million births but also led to negative economic and social consequence namely female infanticide. The government however now permits 2 births per
Globalization is defined as the transfer or easy flow of goods, services and capital from one country to another. Globalization according to some authors has been accompanied by an increasing rate in inequality in terms of income distribution, and this has happened both in the developed and the developing nations. The data on growth and income inequality seem to contradict the optimism of the proponents of globalization. By conceiving of globalization
That way nobody is restricted of their right to procreate, just discouraged. For example, China is making woman have one baby by having them ask permission to have more babies 3.
