The aim of the unit is for students to develop effective leadership skills and embrace aspects of their cultural identity in order to have a greater understanding of diversity and the importance of positive leadership in team situations.The achievement standard that best suits our unit and directly corresponds with our achievement objectives and aims for learning is level 3 AS91505 3.8. The purpose of this standard is to ‘Examine contemporary leadership principles applied in physical activity contexts’. This relates to our unit of work as students develop knowledge, understanding and skills around leadership strategies and the influence these have on their participation in the planning and implementation of activities within a cultural day. The achievement objective allows students to examine and reflect on the leadership principles that they have embodied throughout the lessons during the unit of work. Though the specific context for unit is cultural games, this will create a deeper understanding which will allows them to apply this to alternative physical activity contexts.
Taking this into consideration, the designed unit offers an opportunity to incorporate real world experience as a basis from which students reflections will be assessed on. To critically examine leadership

This is used to evaluate athletes' perception of coaches' behaviors, their leadership style or how athletes perceive their behaviors in 5 subscales. The questionnaires given considered everything from the age, race and level of experience of the coaches evaluated. The results were conclusive and gave scores in areas such as positive feedback, motivation and technique. NHS Leadership Essay Being involved in several clubs and activities has enlightened me with valuable life lessons that will sustain with me through my schooling and my life. The club that has presumably impacted my life the utmost is our school 's soccer club. We have a considerable amount of assistant coaches who help us better ourselves not only in our athletic talent, but in our character as well. Overall it was a success and I’m planning to make it a health behavior that I can apply in my daily life. As I previously mentioned sometimes we all serve as leaders when we don’t even know it. Many of us are siblings, parents, mentors, coaches and will continue to be leaders in many different aspects of our lives. Taking this class has helped me view things in a different perspective and I also learned that it’s just as good to be a follower as it is to be a leader. The program has created 7 habits that promote a positive learning environment. The program is also aligned to several national and state academic standards. The President Leadership Academy has been a strong, thriving and significant program since 1977. In the fall of 1998, the first PLA scholars took action to commit to the development of their leadership skill. This was the first time those four core values of the academy, which are integrity, service, credibility, and learning were into, to action. Furthermore, what I’ve learned from the website is that when you become a scholar in the Sidney A. Ribeua President’s Leadership Academy those four core values surrounds everything that the academy do in their roles of leadership on and off campus. Sports leaders have position power over all players. However, the role of a sports leader is much more encompassing than being a good judge of a player’s ability. This implies that a leader should treat each player with the respect he/she deserves. Moreover, different leadership techniques apply to different players. As is the case with workers of varying strengths and weaknesses, sports leaders also need to flex their leadership style and practice the teachings of situational leadership.
Strengths According to my range of scores during this student leadership practices inventory, ‘modeling the way’ was my only high score putting me at a 21.5/peer-evaluation and a 25/self-evaluation. I thought that I lead by example more and created a path for others to follow like a role-model would, but peers suggest that I need to expand this leadership behavior although they did give me a moderate score average. There is still definite room for improvement. I did rank a close second when it concerned ‘encouraging the heart’ with a moderate score ranging from 30-60th percentile from myself and peers.
