As he states, at first the word was just a synonym for ‘’effective’’ but with engine creation it gained its own meaning: “ratio of useful energy on the output to the useless energy on the input” (J. At the beginning Heath cited an example how Wal-Mart, because of its efficiency and price policies, destroyed “moms-and-pops” stores in Canada. At that time he could not really imagine how efficiency as a way of life would evolve. The modern example of efficient stores is e-supermarkets. “One-quarter of online respondents say they order grocery products online, and more than half (55%) are willing to do so in the future” (“The Future of Grocery”, Nielsen N.V. (NYSE: NLSN), 2015). The statistics also show that modern society does not like to spend time on shopping or searching for suitable clothes in stores. People do not want to waste their precious time that is why they use web-stores, where they can order whatever they want with the goods to be delivered to their door in a few days. As proof to my statement I looked up the statistics of one of the most popular e-retailors Amazon, the graph I studied illustrated that in the past 10 years Amazon’s net revenue rose by 120 billion US dollars. That shows us that in 2001 Heath was right by stating: “the most efficient organizations prosper, while others are destroyed” (J. Heath” The Efficient Society”,
