Life events can change people for the good or the bad. I’m going to tell you the three most impactful events in my life. The most impactful event in my life was probably when I went to Utah with my family. The second most impactful life event was when I went to Disney World. The third most impactful event was when my sister got married.
Some people in elementary school knew they wanted to be doctors. Classmates of mine in middle school expressed their desires to become teachers. And yet for freshman year me, I had no idea what my future would hold—and I was terrified. I had done decently academically, managed to swim without drowning, and could muster a couple songs on the violin. But in a larger sense, it often felt like I was going through the motions, living another day just to do so.
The past indicates to people what processes and pathways are successful, and it highlights what needs to be changed in the future to make society better. The Wesley’s showed to individuals that perseverance and determination along with a tight-knit family can make a business successful. In addition to this, the Point Washington Lumber Company has also proven that lumber is not the steadiest field of business to go into as the demands of the product fluctuate. In retrospect, individuals can take this example of the past as trying a field of business and watch its growth to see if the outcome is greater than the initial
Some dreams were not accomplished due to many reasons. “All dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.” This book is all about one’s personal determination and perseverance to create new and
I’ve always been passionate about helping others and even as a child I always knew I wanted a career that would enable me to do just that. Through my studies in psychology I’ve gained a great affinity in childhood development, behavioral and cognitive psychology, and hope to make a career of it. I plan to continue my education after Mason pursuing a masters in behavioral psychology. I want to be able to work with children, they are my true passion. I believe childhood is the building block of life.
Another takeaway I got from the reading was that at the end, the journey is more important than the reward we are going to get from it. This idea of enjoying what you do as an entrepreneur made me realize, why for example professional athletes live a more satisfying life than many other business people. Most of the athletes are so passionate about their sport that their hard work, training and the actual game that they live for the experience and their passion rather than the check they will receive at the end of the
The motivation, passion, and the internal will to want to succeed in life has always dwelled within me, so ultimately, all I needed was to find what interest me in life. In the beginning, I found myself staring down the road of becoming a teacher or dental hygienist. At first the idea of becoming a teacher seemed like a prominent, and fulfilling job. I get to convey knowledge to groups of young individuals, I also get to work in a setting with other mature adults who share my passion, and I have the opportunity to work with children; but, ultimately, there was just one main component missing for me, and that was the hands-on aspect. I told myself that I wanted to be involved in a career that is very hands-on.
Most transformative moments in life can be caused by the smallest of occurrences in life. Often people do not even realize that a pivotal moment in their life is happening. Someone may realize when they are mature enough that there was one special moment during their childhood that ultimately determined their lifelong goal. For others, they probably realized an “aha” moment right when it happened and from then on decided that they knew what they want to accomplish later on. I actually have taken from both sides of the spectrum from realizing that one special transformative moment but also not even knowing that it would end up steering me towards my current career choice.
The Profession of Social Work as a Career Goal Graduating from high school, I have always had a passion working with kids. I never put into thought exactly what I wanted to do with kids, all I knew was that I wanted to work with kids. At first, my career choice was to become a midwife. There were several complications down the road, in which I could no longer pursue that career choice.
It’s difficult to pinpoint a specific moment in one’s life in which your life is transformed. We often realize that this moment is so signingagent when looking back on personal experiences and don’t realize it at the time. For me, this moment occurred when I realized that I had taken what I love most for granted.
Growing up in a loving household, my parents provided the support and encouragement I need. They raised me with good morals and gave me a strong foundation to develop. I want to work as a school psychologist to improve the lives of students in need of help and make sure it will not affect their
The phrase: “Helping others is the way we help ourselves” from Oprah Winfrey inspired me to choose this profession. Helping people solve their problems, giving them the opportunity to let off steam and share their feelings through confidential talks makes this profession unique and exceptional. I have abilities and values, such as: persistence, kindness, and loyalty, that are highlighted and essential to this job. Also, I have a plan that I will already start following it because this is what I want to be.
In one person’s life, there can be many changes. Some of them are small and do not have a very big effect on your life. However, other events are very important and can completely change a person’s life, such as moving to a new country, joining the military, getting married, or buying a house. Two of the events that have changed my life the most was moving to the United States and the joining the military. When I first arrived in the United States, I was only twelve years old. I had to go to school even though I did not speak the English. I was in a special program called ESOL, this program help me to learn the language and be able to complete all my middle school and high school classes. When I graduated high school, I decided to join the military. This event had the most effect on my life, it lead me to be the person that I am today.
There are many incidents one met in life that change the whole concept of living. Similarly I had an incident which not only change my vision towards life but also to the words you speak and how much they hurt someone enough that you then regret of saying them.
14 years have passed since I took my first steps into kindergarten. Back then, everything was all fun and games. Who would have known that time would fly as fast as the speed of light. In a blink of an eye, here I am now, writing an essay for my college application. Different ideas and thoughts popped up in my head, including the cliche introduction that I presented. Many of them I thought were good, yet there was not much to write about. Honestly, recalling and writing about an event that changed my life is not an easy task. There had been so much that have happened, and in a way or another, my life was changed for either the best or the worst. Desperate as I could ever be, I started looking into my drawers to find anything that might spark a memory. Then there was this blue round neck shirt that I found. Suddenly I remembered the events where I wore that shirt. First was a birthday party of a close friend, second was a sleepover at a relative 's place, so on and so forth. But then I ended up staring in midair for quite awhile. I recalled wearing this shirt during a school interaction. Weird as it may sound, that one significant day, changed my life. Not as a student, an adolescent, but as a man.
