An expatriate is a person working in a country other than his or her nation of origin (Noe, 2013). Expatriate employment has become part and parcel of Multi-National Corporation (MNC) business organizations as a way to improve their Human Resource (HR) to international standards level (Osman- Gani & Tan, 2005, 2009; Noe, Hollenbeck, Gerhart & Wright, 2006). My interviewee, Mario, is an 18 year old immigrant that migrated to America from Bolivia at the age of 10. I have known Mario since middle school and we’ve been friends since then. We have grown up around the same area too and now we both attend the University of Maryland.
