As the workplace is the area of working together in a collaborative environment which is all done through communication and interaction with one another. So, in the case when communication barriers arise then, work line and collaborative processes are impacted to large extent. Communication is the first practical difficulty that is to arise in the face of cultural differences. Work line is also affected by cultural differences because when an individual from different culture does not understand or else misunderstand your message then, off course, work schedule is affected to a certain level. It is, again, important, to note that other forms of communication are also affected such as non-verbal communication such as body language, facial expressions, eye movement and so. Body language largely depends upon the cultural background (Bianchi et al,
Indeed, you mentioned an important aspect of disparities and it is one related to the disparities affecting racial groups. The United States is a multicultural country so for a healthcare professional to treat a disease or to approach a group is necessary to consider their cultural background, traditions, and beliefs. Despite all the United States effort to eradicate the racial differences in the Country, race continues as one of the most significant factors to take into consideration when we are evaluating health care services or high quality of care. Health disparities among Hispanics most the time is caused by the type of food they consume, and the lack of access to healthcare services. In addition, some Hispanic are not the United States
North and South had economic, political and cultural differences. South economy was connected to cotton as vital staple. Cotton was very profitable and many slaves were needed to work on plantations. While still in the United States, Native American tribes are considered sovereign countries. Tribes have their own system that tends to the needs on the reservation. This includes their own government structures, passing laws and ensuring they are enforced. When Native Americans were forced onto reservations, agreements were made between tribal leaders and government officials to ensure that Native Americans would be able to govern their own people, enabling each tribe to protect their distinctive cultural practices and identities. Yet with this distinct divide, many Native Americans do not get the same treatments and benefits that many others get in the dominant society.
Since colonial times the United States had been divided into two completely different parts. The Northern states were mostly free states who believed slavery should be put to end. On the other hand, the Southernern states were slaves states, meaning they were pro-slavery. Therefore, their two ideas about slavery clashed with one another causing great deal of problems such as battles, fights, and debates between the North and South. These disagreements eventually lead to the Southern states seceding from the Union.
Misinterpretations The way we interpret one’s body language greatly affects the way we view each other. One of the most important aspects of human interaction is body language, but how can one properly communicate with others without knowing how easy it is to come across misinterpretations? As an individual that experiences American, Haitian, and Montserratian culture, it is important to remember that body language is not always universal.
When Europeans found the indigenous people on the Indies the world changed. The New World, and The Old World. The main differences between the West Indies and Europe was the wildlife, climate, and way of life. The Native people of America were very different among themselves, and Europeans.
There are many different definitions of culture, but no single definition that all social scientists would accept (Barnard & Spencer, 1996). What defines culture? Perhaps it is the beliefs or the customs in our society or the way of life? A way one would behave or even think? I believe language and religion play a bug role when defining ones culture.

On the issue of whether culture in America is one culture or instead cultures, I believe that due to the vast variety and distinctness of the cultural groups that make up the United States the name should be American Cultures. To further examine why we will look at sources from several different figures such as Benjamin Franklin, Harriet Jacobs, Jackson Turner, John D’Emilio, Gerda Lerner, and Fredric Douglas. To start, we will first look at Harriet Jacobs and her biography detailing her life as a slave. Harriet Jacobs was born into slavery, however was unaware of this until the loss of her protection, her father who was a skilled slave, she is shocked by the realization saying “I never dreamed I was a piece of merchandise”(Jacobs, 8)
In the reading, it is told that race and ethnicity can get confusing because they both a pretty similar to each other. The differences are the “characteristics that are used to assign people to ethnic or racial groups.” Max Weber describes ethic groups as, “human groups that entertain a subjective belief in their common decent.” Meaning that ethnic is a belief, and it has nothing to do with blood relationships. He defined race to be, common inherited and inheritable traits that actually derive from common decent.

Geert Hofstede defines culture as "the collective programming of the mind which distinguishes the members of one group or category of people from another" (Geert Hofstede, 1997, p. 5). Culture helps us to understand how society manages changes and transformations by presenting a characteristic profile about norms, values, and institutions (Tihanyi et al., 2005). Cultural distance, defined as the differences between countries in national culture systems (Hofstede, 1980), has been an important aspect in the study of MNE strategies and organizational performance (Barkema, Bell, & Pennings, 1996; Brouthers & Brouthers, 2001).
