Culture Experience
Every country has their own culture, which can stand out their differences between each other. I feel exciting and challenging for living in a culture that is different from my own. Since I have been living in the United States for two years, I also figure out some culture shocks when I first arrived in the United States. I am going to use the public transportation as an example to illustrate how the American culture changes my daily life.
On the bus to my class on the second day, I am surprised that the driver won 't stop when I was the only one want to get off. Maybe because there is someone to get out of the bus at the same stop with me on the first day, I don 't need to pay attention to remind the driver to stop. After this situation, I know that if people want to get off, then just pull a yellow wire inside the compartment so that the driver stops at the next stop. It is a useful way to remind the driver

After a period of time, I decided to get my driver license. During the preparing of my written examination, I also find different kinds of rules between America and China. However, in U.S. traffic regulations, pedestrians always come first when people are driving, whether it is a street lamp or red light, or even pedestrians walk illegally, vehicles must be courteous. When people meet the red light at many crossroads, they must be sure to see the mark before they want to turn right. For example, it shows the red light, first stop for a few seconds and then turn right, even if vehicles on the opposite side left and did not come with the vehicle, but it is necessary to care about this kind of problem and ensure it is safe to drive away. I remember that if that situation happened in China, the car on the right-side can pass at any time, but also with the time when the pedestrian dispute road. On the whole, although the common rule is as same as China 's, it still has some
Things are a little different when you are driving a motorcycle, bike, school bus, or a truck carrying hazardous materials. With a motorcycle or a bike approach the crossing with caution, and do not swerve to get a better angle for crossing. For a school bus, you must stop at every crossing. Look both ways and when it is all clear you may pass. With a truck carrying hazardous materials, slow down safely and go only when it is completely clear.
Traffic laws are avoided and taken for granted every day, similar to red-light violations, speeding, and not wearing seat belts. In the article, “Cintas Lists the Seven Most Hazardous Driving Habits”, a person who performs these driving habits is known as “The Rule Breaker.” Running a red light is expressed by aggressive drivers, rushing, or not paying attention. Red-light violations are often so dangerous due to the collision that usually occurs at 45 degree angles (Moser). This type of collision can have an outcome of severe injuries.
In this decade, automobiles were changed to help protect people. The Traffic Act is important because it introduces the offenses of careless driving and other issues, which will make drivers more aware and careful on the road. In addition, when the government saw many people were dying due to automobile accidents, the government introduced a law “in 1935 [...] designated pedestrian road crossings, with a bright orange globe on a pole on either side of the road” (Chapman 110). Crosswalks were a very important part to improving the safety of cars because drivers will see crosswalks ahead; as well as, become more aware if there are pedestrians crossing the road because of the bright poles. Today, one can still see that these were a significant part of improving safety because crosswalks are still in
Yes, agreeably safety is an important issue to the public, as it should be. Studies conducted “by the Federal Highway Administration suggests that dangerous broadside collisions were reduced by 25% at intersections with traffic cameras, while rear-ended collisions increased by 15%” (Higgins, et al. 1). Furthermore, the Federal Highway Administration recommends that “yellow change interval should have a minimum duration of 3 seconds and a maximum duration of 6 seconds. The longer intervals should be reserved for use on approaches with higher speeds” (Section 4D.26 of the 2009 MUTCD). Consequently, a reduction in red light runners and accidents will result if the appropriate yellow change interval, followed by a red clearance interval of the recommended times implemented.
Pedestrians are menaced every minute of the days and nights by a wanton recklessness of
My Ethnomusicological Autobiography Growing up in the South in the early 2000s, I was surrounded by music my family identified with or could relate to. My family would come together every weekend for some barbecue and laughs while gossiping and enjoying music that made them dance or feel good. In black culture a family get together with loved ones, music, and grilled food is called a cookout. A typical cookout would consist of the children playing outside while the men would be around the grill cooking and cracking jokes, and the women would be inside gossiping and preparing the food.
The light changes and the car in front of them moves up a little but quickly stops again because it’s trying to turn. The car next to you is distracted they just hit the gas but because they are on their phone they didn’t see the car stop and now there is an accident. b. Topic i. This is happening
Born in Saint-Cloud, a city on the outskirts of the Eiffel Tower’s birthplace, my culturally embellished journey began. Though life in France was brief, with the departure towards a new life in Florida at the age of eighteen months, the culture had carved a spot in my heart. Furthermore, arriving to a new country provided a new environment, and at a young age, I was able to effectively adapt to the English language and customs. Hitherto, I have no accent in comparison to the strong accents of my parents. Currently, at the age of seventeen, I speak two languages and have had the opportunity to discover what life is like in both France and America.
Definition of the word worldview can vary greatly, ranges from “we are all what we think” which has been inspired by Buddha, to a more current view being that it is a set of assumptions and beliefs that have an all-powerful effect , both on cognition and behavior. In brief, worldview influences and impacts the way a person view their surroundings, their lives as well as other people in their environment (Sue & Sue, 2003). Culture is only a single word that besets a plethora of categories which can influence a person’s thoughts, beliefs, actions and morals. Enclosing a myriad of life experiences, family values and lessons into a single word is quite a challenge. I am a product of Italian American culture.
The background of my cultural identity I am an African American female but that isn’t all there is to know me for. I am an African American girl who is very interactive with my religion and also my culture. Cultural identity can be hard to explain because some people don’t know what’s really in their culture and they fail to see , and understand it. I know what my cultural identity is because of my ethiopian flag, the baked macaroni, and the movie the lion king.
More than likely, the police officer will not follow the individual wherever he or she decides to turn. In the rare and unlikely event, the police officer does decide to follow him or her, one should press the accelerator as far down as it will go. Then, the individual should not remain on the same road for the
A flat tire? Tire blow out? These are situations, which warrant considerable sense to stop the vehicle at a slower pace towards the sides of the road away from the ongoing traffic. Regularly check the tires and maintain them with proper pressure.
In my life, I had various cultural and social factors that have greatly influenced my cultural identity. Cultural customs, expectations, and beliefs have impacted my deep culture. These deep cultural impacts are implemented in my life and they stand for what I believe in. My surface culture consists of multiple factors who describe who I am as a person that can be easily seen by others. My preferences, dislikes, and who I am as a person were heavily influenced by my cultural settings and environments.
Everyone around the world has different beliefs, behaviors, objects and religion that are common for a particular society or a group of people who enjoys shared values and thus gives positive contributions to the society. This is called Culture. These are carried on by the people from generation by generation. It is the particular view point, customs and beliefs that discern one culture from another. It is transferred from one generation to another through language, material objects, and daily rituals.
