Nowadays, science is well-developed so we are able to get solutions of many problems, which we could not have done previously. Forensic science has developed in the last two decades. It becomes a scientific study and includes some of the world's most important discoveries, such as: DNA coding, toxicology, ballistics and serology- the study of body fluids. The objective of this paper focuses on current detection methods of seminal fluid in a crime scene, such as: fluorescence, microscopic examination and acid phosphatase. First of all, I would like emphasize how important is to detect seminal fluids. It could be an important factor in confirming in case of rape, sexual homicide, sexual assault or adultery (Stefanidou). We can distinguish two common detection methods: fluorescence, which uses ultraviolet light to develop the properties of semen, microscopic examination and chemical - detection acid phosphatase (Stefanidou).
