Cyntoia Brown murderer or self defensive victim
Cyntoia Brown was at the young age of 16 was bought for sex by Johnny Allen a real estate agent. Johnny Allen picked her up for sex and took her back to his house. When everything was said and done she pulled a gun from her purse and shot him. Cyntoia claimed she thought Allen was reaching for a gun and acted first when she told this to the police. Before she was caught she took Allens money and his truck and left. The act of shooting Johnny is what led to her 15 year sentence in prison. The question of whether or not this act was self defense was debated but not found true in her case. I would like to look into the case and see if she truly did the act in self defense.

He was known for being caring and this leads to people in his favor stating he truly meant to help Cyntoia not pick her up for

Johnny Webb was Tod’s jailmate and told the jury that Tod confessed to his crimes. This evidence was very shady because of his statement,”I don’t remember, you know what I’m saying. Something to put pressure on somebody to do something to get me out.” Johnny was a notorious liar and other evidence was found that after he gave his testimony, his sentence was shortened. Almost always, a prisoner will do anything to get their sentence shortened.
In the case of Tara Brown’s murder, various groups of individuals are affected. As well as maintaining principles of fair punishment and deterrence, the criminal justice system has to consider perceptions of the victim’s family (secondary victim), the community’s demand for crime prevention, and the offender’s rights to a fair court hearing. The most likely outcome is imprisonment for Lionel John Patea due to committing an indictable offence. It is important to note that if this was only a case of domestic abuse without murder, it would utilise more time, effort and expenses to come to a resolution. This is due to the different circumstances and degree of abuse that the judge has to assess.
