The fact is we want to get sick people better; it is in a nurse’s nature to care for the well-being of each patient. We study for hours in nursing school to be the best nurses we can be so that we can learn to properly assess and provide treatment. What every nurse must always remember is that patients have rights. It is important to get a patients informed consent and to be sure that they understand the procedure they are about to undergo, why they need the treatment, the risks involved, and the ramifications behind the decision to give their consent. When a patient does not fully comprehend a procedure, how can we as nurses expect them to readily agree to medical interventions blindly?

Nurse-managed health centers are a basic necessity in healthcare because they provide affordable and deserved care to the unprivileged population, while at the same time educating and training nurse practitioners. Usually, such health care institutions are led by an advanced practice nurse and as a result, need careful and efficient management and leadership skills and models. With the role that these centers serve, there is a need for an advocacy strategy for the nurse-managed health centers as a way of overseeing their effectiveness in service delivery grow. As a team member I was able to present myself and was able to put my views and ideas. This project helped me to understand myself better and I realised that I can work in any situation with anyone. I will always try to work in similar collaborative approach and try to improvise myself. It was a good learning opportunity for me. I have gained experience and skills from my teammates during the project.

My fieldwork instructor has advised me that I am doing great. I demonstrate effective communication, which is necessary to talk to nurses and certified nursing assistants. I was advised there is nothing that I should/could be doing differently now. An occupational therapy practitioner and cna both work on activities of daily living, self-care, and bathroom business. When a cna works with the patient, they tend to do the steps/activity for the patient.
