The Daang Matuwid program aims to reduce poverty and increase economic growth. President Aquino says that this program is called “Daang Matuwid” because it must be a moral and rightful highway to a “just, … disciplined, [and] corrupt free” nation (Diaz, 2014). It is the improving of the right way of doing things. Its catch phrase in English as stated in the same article states that this program is a “Straight path towards good government or governance.” Aquino will not focus on the government as a whole but specifically the executive, legislative, and judicial branches. Specifically, in Attawapiskat, a community located in the western Hudson Bay Lowland, they are facing a housing crisis. The housing conditions aren’t liveable, with one house containing 1 family including, immediate and non-immediate family. Families aren’t just living in houses, they are living in used donated trailers. The houses don’t have access to running clean water, or a significant source of heat.
Path goal theory thoroughly examined the relationship between leaders and followers. It examine how leaders motivate subordinates in pursuit of objectives. It implied that leadership is not enforced on subordinates but exercised in conjunction with them, recognising that often leadership is wanted by those that are led, not imposed on them.
