The Women’s Movement was a symbolic movement in achieving political and civil equality. It assisted women lifestyles in the United States, granting them equal opportunities as men. Therefore, the Equal Rights Amendment guaranteed equal rights with men and the Equal Pay Act guaranteed equal pay. But these opportunities rarely helped women since they were prohibited and discriminated from universities and communal school, young girls have to be taught at home by mothers due to the segregation from males and females. In the 1960s, organizations were predominantly constructed for women since they were driven away from society of men and can’t attend schools and colleges.

In today’s society, women are starting to be seen as capable of functioning in our ever-changing world, but during the Progressive Era, women were seen as nothing more than synonymous to “maids”, as their primary focus was to “keep her house clean and wholesome

I would love to be able to let young girls know that as women beauty is more than skin deep. We are not always made to look like those women on TV and that is okay. One of my favorite verses in the bible is Psalm 139:14 “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”. This is something I had to remind myself growing up. The fact that one of the purposes for this organization is aimed towards helping the problems concerning girls and women is major because their are many problems affecting our generation and we need a group of ladies that are willing to fight against it.

Burke’s purpose in this article is to shine a light on Roosevelt’s achievements in life and to make sure that all the impact that she had on American society in known.
Successful in her mission to educate and spread awareness in Beijing and all across the world, Clinton’s speech led to “Beijing [legitimizing women’s rights] and [galvanizing] media attention to the issue” (Worden 35) which ultimately “energized the feminist movement and connected it more to the global human rights movement as well as the United Nations and governments” (Worden 36). In Clinton’s speech, she did not strive to make women feel sorry for themselves, but to show that women can overcome the hardships they face and the level of potential change has if women take initiative. Though progress has been made, the steps ahead add up to more than a mile. A survey taken from Penn. Schoen.
Although most of my involvement has centered around politics, where I have been an active volunteer in the current election cycle, my service also extends to the homeless community in the Quad Cities. After recognizing the extent of homelessness in Davenport, my friend decided to start a nonprofit 5K to benefit a local shelter and I immediately joined in the venture. By working with the shelter rather than independently, we were able to avoid the faults set forth in To Hell With Good Intentions. Our good intentions have donated over $10,000 to King’s Harvest Ministries, who uses funds in a way that raises the standard of living for the local homeless
