The next day they have to go to dance rehearsal and Jules has very bad pain in her hip and back. As a result, Jules has to stop dancing for a while and she goes to a specialist to help her after seeing many other doctors who tells Juliana and her family that she has stage 4 cancer. Sam, Juliana, and her family were devastated, crying about the bad news. Jules begins to feel that her mother and Sam are the only ones who see her as the same person. Everyone else treats Jules differently. Sam continues to be by Jules side but as Jules gets further into chemotherapy, she begins to distance herself from Sam. Jules attitude and mood changes for the worse. The two friends gradually start to not care about each other and they don't understand each other as much. When Sam goes on a vacation with her mom and her moms boyfriend, she meets a guy named Paul. The two begin to go out with each other and they eventually create a relationship. Jules has been thinking about stopping chemotherapy because it has been holding her back from living her life. She finds out that the treatments she has been receiving are not making the cancer go away so she decides to quit chemotherapy. Though chemotherapy is over, Sam and Jules are still distant. Jules starts hanging out with her other friends from dance class and Sam spends most of her time with Paul. They both blame each other for this distance and they get into a fight. Jules condition worsens dramatically after she stops chemotherapy, so she has to go back to the doctors. The doctor wants Jules to go back on chemo and after thinking a lot, Jules agrees only because the doctor said she wouldn't lose her hair and she would be able to dance this time. As Jules' sickness continues, Paul officially breaks up with Sam, Sam has more fights with her mom, she is doing bad in school, and she still hasn't been talking to Jules for a while. Jules finds out
They argue over who betrayed who the most. Ted walks out. Later, they both try to reconnect with each other. Sami explains that she needed the money for medical school.
Josh, Margots boyfriend was originally best friends with Lara Jean and she had a crush on him. One day she found out her sister liked him and he liked her sister too. Lara jean was heart broken so she wrote him a letter about all her thoughts about how she loved him. She put the letter in a box and forgot she ever had feelings for him. Josh was their next door neighbor and he would give Lara jean a ride to school because she hated driving.

Fin finally begins to realize that he can have friends and a good time, Joe falls asleep at Olivia’s so Fin and Joe stay there for that night. Sula’s and Nel’s friendship is invaluable because they two meet at the time when they need each other the most and this is an important aspect of Sula’s and Nel’s friendship, they are together because they want to, not because they have to; it is also this aspect of Sula and Nel’s relationship which is different from their relationships with their mothers. Sula and Nel meet at the time in their life when they both start to realize that their position in the society is disadvantaged “because each had discovered years before that they were neither white nor male, and that all freedom and triumph was forbidden to them, they had set about creating something else to be”(52). The two girls make friends because they have a lot in common and grew up in the same neighborhood and community; they understand each other’s problems and needs.
She is one those people who puts school first so she’s not in popular crowds. She really likes this guy Dave who is a bit of a power seeker; she then dates him and see that he’s not who she thought he was because he just followed what his friends do. All Sara really wanted was someone who was their own person. Well Sara was dating Dave she sort of forgot who her real friends were.
