Dance is a way of expressing feelings and talking. Instead of using words, its used with your body which is difficult but has an amazing texture that is used throughout the dance. Dancing is a good way to get in shape and helps with body technique. People have personal goals that they want to reach and work hard to try and meet them.
Cardio exercises will increase the endurance of dancers. Their heart rate will speed which builds onto the endurance they already have. Usually dancers get injured in allegro because their endurance runs out. If you want to increase endurance in a ballet class so you won’t become tired as easily, you should work on jumps so you can sustain your energy. When you run and jump, your legs absorb a force approximately three times your body weight. That force travels through the knee, which is one of the most easily injured through overuse.
Controlling your dance technique is key and it is a way of having a strong core. If you have a strong core, you can balance. If you can balance you have control over your body and how you perform with your body. If you lose your balance, you are usually not engaging your core. In order to engage your core, you have to stand tall and pull your back into a straight line that connects from your neck, spine, and tailbone. According to Elaine Winslow-Redmond , engaging your core is key in finding your stability and pulls you on your legs. Engaging your core is also a way to feel how you want to move with your body.
In order to reduce strain on the throwing arm and capitalize on control and velocity the pitcher must perform the stride phase efficiently and effectively. To achieve a proper stride phase, the pitcher must keep a stable back leg at all times to keep a balanced position throughout the phase besides the follow-through phase. Although, the follow-through phase has to be controlled so that the height of the ball when release will not decrease. Another action that can hinder the weight that transfers is how the front leg lands. If the front leg lands stiffly, it will cause an increase of negative force which will reduce the weight transferred while the opposite holds true
I have been dancing for four years now and know for a fact that dancing is a sport. Dancers practice everyday to improve like other sports. I have danced before but it was not as serious until I joined Color Guard my freshman year. Color Guard was mainly contemporary and ballet.
The 1920’s alone was an interesting period, but to learn more about how it has evolved is most definitely not a time waster. To start Dance is a form of art, from the music to the culture and the history behind it, dance has been a way people could express themselves for many decades. In the clubs, they did dance contests called marathons, which is when dance until can't dance anymore. In the late 1920s came the tango and the waltz, which still play a role in history today from dance shows like Dancing with the Stars to So You Think You Can Dance.
Dance might be just a movement of a person’s feet and body for others. But to me, it means more than that. Dance is an art, a way of expressing your thoughts through your body involving perfect posture, unstoppable practice, and confidence. Gerald Graff’s, “Hidden Intellectualism” mentions that intellect does not only exist in academic form of thinking. Non-academic subjects should be apart of intellect because knowledge can also take the form of street smarts.
It is very difficult to practice and or learn a dance without proper practice space. We need a floor with accurate lines while we’re practicing because then we will perform correctly. If we don’t, then we will not perform very well. Another reason is that it is quite hard to stretch and practice our best or “full out” as most dancers refer to it when we are on cold, hard, concrete floors like the hallways and cafeteria floors. Even though we can (and do) have practice in those spaces, so can other sports.
At that time, “dancing” was considered prancing around in pink sparkly tutus while pretending to be a prima ballerina. Now, that is not the case. Dancing is like any other competitive sport, but much different.

Turning Around the Topic: Sport or Not? When you hear the word ‘sport’, you probably think of many things in your mind like soccer, football, softball, and even cheerleading but do you think of dance? One of the most common debates among dancers is whether or not dance should be considered a sport. If we’re being honest, dance doesn't even get close to the amount of credit it deserves.
To dance is to be knowledgeable about the stories of the ancestral heroes. Dancing, unlike painting and singing, is learnt at an early age. This allows large groups of people to demonstrate their clan rights in front of an audience. Dance is also seen as an occasion to entertain and to be entertained and through the work of dance to show their love for families and kin. It is for this reason that dance may be performed at the end of every day in some communities.
Dancers need a lot of strength to jump high, turn without falling over and keep up with the dance overall. Daily training is needed to keep a dancer’s strength up. Sit-ups, running, push-ups, and
There are many other aspects of dance then just learning the “moves”. A dancer must have well trained technique, flexibility, muscular body, know terminology, memorize steps and so much more. There are so many important aspects of dance most people do not realize. If dance was given more publicity, more people would view it as a
My coach told me it was a “mental block” and it was common in athletes that throw themselves in mid-air hoping to land on their feet. Therefore, the first time I tumbled by myself, I fell flat on my face. After four broken arms, I finally told myself I was going to throw and land a tumbling pass, after that I did. From that moment on I was able to hold a person above my head for what felt like hours at a time, work through the hard

I have always had a burning passion for dance since I was a young girl. My first time on a stage, I was immediately hooked. The overpowering feeling of a crowd of people watching me as I do what I love, is a feeling I have always admired. Dance has developed my character and personality in many different ways. I have been taught responsibility, discipline, integrity and much more.
Ever since i was young i fell in love with the art of dance. When i finally joined i felt like i was a little behind hence everyone was in my class was dancing since they were toddlers. My first day of dance was pretty nerve racking. My teacher would say to do something and i wouldn't know what to do because i didn't know any dance vocabulary. I would have to look around and try to fit in as much as possible so my teacher wouldn't think i wasn't fit for the class.
