Darby Alternate Ending Essay

Kate turns around to see Mr.Jacks and his dog in front of the glowing force field. “You made it out,” she says, with a happy smirk on her face.

Mr. Jacks replies is a fatherly tone, “You know I wouldn't let you go out by yourself, your parents would never forgive me.”

Kate asks, “Did you tell the others how to escape?”

“I left a note.” He says.

She replies “Good!”

Mr. Jacks asks “So where are we heading now?”

“To find my parents in Philadelphia and to try to find a way to stop whoever or whatever is trying to keep us all captive,” Kate explains, as they start walking toward Philadelphia.

After walking upon the lonely road a while, they hear someone calling, “Wait!!!” They turn their heads to see Darby

“Good now look out, so I can find out how to disable all of the force fields and free everyone.” declares Kate.

As she starts looking around at the control pad, she can hear large footsteps coming closer towards them “Kate hide!” hisses Darby. They both hide as the footsteps get even closer.

A grotesque pale brown bug like creature, wearing a hazmat like suit, comes into the room and taps a few buttons on the control panel. The ship starts flying elsewhere, then it stops. The creature then presses more buttons, and leaves.

“What happened?” asks Darby.

“I think it just disabled another force field” replies Kate. She repeats what the creature did, which sets off an alarm. Causing a turret to come from the ceiling and aim at her. Kate runs and gets cornered, as it shoots at her. She ducks at the last second, and the shot hits the generator causing the ship to lose power.

“This place is going down! We need to go now!” shouts Kate as they both run. This releases the captives. Kate hugs her parents and tells everyone to follow her to the cargo plane where they take off before the ship
