A Christian pastor and his wife’s adopted son has been charged with murder after the couple was recently found dead in Alabama. On Thursday night, Pastor William Jeremy Hulsey, 43, and his wife Sandra Hulsey, 37, were shot dead inside their home in Hartselle. Priceville cops were called to the residence, and an investigation flagged their adoptive son as a person of interest in the crime, according to AL.com.

Scott Peterson was convicted of the murder of Laci Peterson and her unborn son, Conner Peterson. He has been on death row for over a decade as he tries to get his conviction appealed. Peterson and his family maintain his innocence, even participating in a docu-series titled, The Murder of Laci Peterson. Christopher Simmons was a seventeen year old juvenile from Missouri whom in 1993 along with two of his friends, Charles Benjamin and John Tessmer, planned to rob and murder Shirley Crook in her home (Roper v. Simmons, 2004). On the night the crime was to be committed, Tessmer pulled out of the plan, and Simmons and Benjamin would continue on as planned. The two broke into the Ms. Crook’s home, robbed her, tied her up, covered up her eyes, then drove her to a state park and threw her off a bridge. During the trial, evidence, videotaped reenactment and testimony outlining the premeditated plan, allowed for the jury to easily convict Simmons of the crime. I am choosing to write about Aileen Wournos, and how I believe she committed crimes because of the developmental theory. As many know, Wournos had a very difficult and strange life. Beginning with her father being incarcerated for crimes against nature (child sex crime), being abandoned by her mother at age 4, all the way to having sexual intercourse with her own brother. As one thing led to another traits started to develop, leading the way to her murder spree.

Through the help of the Innocence Project, he was released from jail. Brown was convicted of a horrific crime that included murder, even though the evidence that was provided was analyzed and presented wrongly.

Houston, Texas, was home to Andrea Yates; a wife and a mother to Randy Yates and their five children. One morning in the year 2001, she dialed, 911 breathing heavily into the phone “I need a police officer,” (O’Malley). The news over Andrea Yates drowning her children spread like wildfire across the nation, horrifying Americans. Following her confession, she pleaded innocent with the “Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity” (NGRI) plea, yet the jury rejected her appeal and found her guilty of five accounts of first-degree murder. However, in the retrial of 2006, Yates’ abiding murder convictions were overturned, and Andrea Yates was found NGRI.

Between 1976 and 1977, the Metro Detroit area was gripped with fear due to the Oakland County Child Killer case. At least four children were killed, and local area residents are still trying to get a resolution for these unsolved child murders in Michigan. Also known as the Babysitter Killer, there are many people who believe that Chris Busch was the Oakland County Child Killer. Unfortunately, despite a lot of notable evidence and a large public outcry, the police never got past the initial questioning phase with any of the suspects. The families of the murdered children have been waiting for one major question to be answered for 40 years: if it wasn't Busch, who was the Oakland County Child Killer, and why hasn't he or she been caught?

Therefore, when a person argues that a juvenile was not aware of their crime is a discrediting claim. In 1990 in the city of Chicago, a couple expecting their first child were murdered in cold blood in the hands of a juvenile teen. The teen shot both the husband and the wife who pleaded for their lives and the life of their unborn child. This killer was aware of his crime and was aware of who his victims were due to planning the murders months before.

After reading chapters one and two of the Psychology in Everyday Life book and learning about the four big ideas in psychology, and also while trying to figure out the contributing factors of Andrea Yates’ murder of her children. I have to focus in on and think about big idea two, the biopsychosocial approach, that integrates three levels which are biological, psychological and social/cultural; all together these factors influence and give insight into behavior and mental processes. The case worker failed to utilize two important sources of information that could have made a difference in the verdict for the case ruling of parental rights and the removal of the kids from both of their parents. The first source was from Jan Delipsey, the psychologist that supervised the visit between Katy Krasniqi and her children. Jan Delipsey brought forth information to the court about how she personal felt about the disregard of the children heritage and religion being look over. She was concerned with the fact that the children had an uncle who had expressed interest in adopting them, but was overlooked by the caseworker assigned to the case. The caseworker replied to the notion with, “I have not, and would never investigate relative placement in this case, because these people always stay together”.

In February 2014, a horrendous event occurred that shocked not only the nation, but the world. Greg Anderson murdered his 11-year-old son Luke and the police then shot him at the Tyabb cricket oval.
