David Suzuki is a successful and dedicated Canadian activist who has raised awareness on environmental and economic issues over the years. Suzuki educates others, makes information readily available, started a non-profit organization, as well as engages, influences, and teaches youth to be respectful and protective of the Earth. To begin with, Dr. David Suzuki has raised awareness and educated Canadians on environmental issues in ways such as radio broadcasts, television shows, books, documentaries, speeches, and blogs. By using various types of media to publicize research, opinions and ideas, he has made the information more easily accessible and available to a greater amount of people. The United Nations awarded him with the Environment Programme medal for this series. Additionally, he is the founder of the David Suzuki Foundation which is a non-profit organization with many different goals relating to environmental and economic issues, some of which they have already achieved. One issue the foundation is currently focusing on is climate change. In an article in regards to a projects called, Race to the Top, the author writes, “Climate change affects everyone. Camp Suzuki in Howe Sound, British Colombia is a great example of Suzuki making a fun, hands on experience for young adults to start taking action on helping our environment.
