I believe the impetus behind the exploration and colonization in the era of European exploration was for multiple different incentives for example, wealth, religion, and fame. Moreover, wealth and power were obtained through trading goods, valuables, gold, silver, lands, and colonies. In addition, looking for the Northwest Passage to Asia and fur trading were critical factors that defined the wealth aspect. Also, converting Native Americans to Roman Catholicism played a significant role in the expansion of colonies. Furthermore, the English came to America in search for freedom of religion.

The Berlin Conference is an example of leaders coming together to form political boundaries. Since this happened it shows how many things were affected. This includes people, countries, resources found in that place. The biggest thing is it has a large affect on the future of everyone and everything. Before discussing how it really affected things, I’ll say why people decide to make political boundaries in the first place.

This quote explains what the Americans of the early 1950s had to quickly learn how to do or they would in turn surrender all of their rights to speak and believe freely.

Corporate greedy and corrupt politicians were specific problems and injustices that were present in American life during the late 1800s and early 1900s however these were addressed during the progressive era with laws and regulations. Throughout the gilded era corrupt politicians and corporate greedy allowed the upper class and businessmen to take advantage of the working class. This means that a majority of the population were hurt during the gilded age whereas a small percentage benefitted. As seen in document 1, living conditions were crowded, dirty, and unsafe.

In the world of college, there are many majors or professions to choose from. Whatever career I choose to take, I know that there are many doors open for me to walk through. Planning for life after high school, I am considering going into the medical field to become a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Nurse (NICU). A NICU Nurse is a nurse who cares for premature and critically ill newborns that are born in need of immediate medical attention.

In times of fear and hysteria in the U.S. it is mass chaos and it only gets worse and worse. During the time of both the witch-hunt eras, whether for communist or actual witches, they prove to have many similarities between them. Both of these times were full of confusion and lying which lead to the temporary downfall of the authority at that time. Joseph McCarthy proved to be a factor in this time and add on to the chaos that was America. Arthur Miller wrote about these times in a book called The Crucible, based on the witch trial era.

Throughout my last two years of high school, I constantly struggled to determine my college and career goals. I always knew that I intended to obtain a career that involved service to others and my community, yet I could never envision a career that captivated my interest. My high school education and applying to college were never crucial concerns to me during the time. During the summer of sophomore year, leading into my junior year, my father had passed away unexpectedly, leaving my mother to raise me and my two younger brothers on her own. Since I am the eldest of my family, I gained more responsibility for my brothers.

During my college experience I changed my major a few times. However, during my junior year I discovered the social work major and everything clicked. At first the social work career clicked for me because it enabled me to be in a position to really help individuals’ during their times of need. However, my social work classes really shaped my identity and development because the classes made me realize how unhealthy my family was and to realize that I had experienced abuse throughout my life. Before my social work classes I was in denial about how unhealthy the experience in my life

I discovered that I have an incredible ability to help people. Over the year I kept debating on coming to college. The debate was between immediate gratification of my purpose, or an education that will help me change people’s lives even more. Luckily, I picked the latter. While rereading L’étranger, I dug up my passion for literature and writing.

Throughout my life, my parents have supported my ideas, and encouraged me to follow my intuition and find my passion. Basically, this is why I attended Medical school! Growing up I never had any dreams; dreams were impossible to come true. My mother raised me by herself and the only thing she ever taught me was to keep a job. I wasn 't introduce to college until I was in high school; never even thought about going, it was pretty much unheard of in my family. After graduating high school I enrolled at a local community college. I thought it was the right thing to do since I would have been the 2nd person in my family to continue my education.
