I think it is honest, I think so; I am no saint.” (884) Because of his impure actions in the past, Proctor wanted to die with a clean conscience. This is important because it shows how much theology ruled the lives of the people in the 1600s. An innocent man was hanged because his accuser was almost exposed as a liar.
George stole it because he knew If he didn’t Curley would. He just wanted the best for Lennie and he felt him, killing him in a simple way that he wouldn 't see coming would be the best way to kill him. During this time, the penalty for the murder of another person was not consistently punished in one way. For some people, murder would be punished with a public execution for the entire community to see, while for others they could get away with murder completely free of any punishment. At the time the punishment often depended on the social class of the killer and the social class of the person that was killed. In this situation, social class was less of a factor since the Prince get Romeo off easy since the person that Romeo killed was the killer of Mercutio, who is related by blood to the Prince in this quote “And for that offense immediately do we exile him hence... My blood for your rude brawls doth lie a-bleeding; but I’ll amerce you with so strong a fine that you shall repent the loss of mine.”
Tom lied to George as well in order to keep his affair secret. He then ends up saving himself and killing Gatsby by blaming Myrtle 's death on Gatsby in the quote, ”He ran over Myrtle like you 'd run over a dog and never even stopped his car" (178). He explains this here, “There was nothing I could say, except the one unutterable fact that it wasn 't true” (178). Over time, the consequences begin to take effect on George and his mental health goes downhill due to the shadieness of the upper class. He goes as far as locking his wife up in a closet, “‘I 've got my wife locked in up there,’”
For instance, The Misfit, a man who escaped from jail, seems to not have any feelings in the beginning. He claims to not know why he was in jail and seems to have some trauma in his background so he takes it out on various people. When he comes upon a crashed vehicle in the ditch with a family calling for help, he decides to go meet with them. Once he meets with the victims of the accident, he figures he will kill them instead for absolutely no reason. However, after he sentences the family to be killed, he realizes “It’s no real pleasure in life” (O’Connor 377) to kill anyone anymore and ends up changing for the

Kino did not know the furture of what would happen. He thought of what it could have been and tried to make it come true.

David has no nore ways to contact females. Although the death penalty is uses as a punishment to show people how big a situation is, the death penalty should be banned in the United States. One Reason why the death penalty should be banned is because Capital Punishment is decreasing, let it be. We don’t need to try and raise a law that is for killing people. Citizens in the united states are alreadying going through enough things.
I think sending a teen or adult to prison for life is not cruel or unusual for a punishment. I think that if they don 't go to jail, they will never learn. I think what 's cruel and unusual is them killing someone else. I think letting a killer walk free is like stabbing yourself in the back. This is why I disagree with Yee 's bill.
He later reveals he let these rumours spread because he was to busy trying to distort his origins that he turned to omitting the truth instead. All in an attempt to attain his fictitious image of the American Dream, which to him is Daisy Buchanan. He would rather people forever presume he was a spy and killed a man than have Daisy know he comes from a family of two poor and unsuccessful farmers. Unfortunately, for Gatsby, his omission of the truth about his past makes
in that year he does not have to pay his creditor. "This means the creditor would suffer and the economy would go down. Hammurabi’s code was written to protect the people of the ancient city of Babylon. However, I think otherwise. Nearly 4,00 years ago, in Babylon, Hammurabi created a set of 282 laws to protect the people that he ruled. On the other hand, I believe that his laws weren’t just to everyone.

At first, Henry Clay introduced an omnibus bill covering these measures.
There is a saying ‘Rome was not built in a day’; this expresses the idea that great things take time to evolve and grow properly. America is much like Rome in the sense that over time and thanks to the foreign influences America received, it was able to blossom and still continues to grow. Without the intervention of France and England in America’s land and politics during 1795 to 1810, America would not have been able to thrive on the harsh global scale. Specifically, the political, social and economic events of the XYZ Affair, Alien and Sedition Acts, Louisiana Purchase and the despised Embargo of 1807 became turning points which would decide if America was strong enough to survive as a country.
