The Secession of Texas from the Union Once the smoke clears the battlefield is dyed red with the blood of soldiers. This was the face of civil war. When the South seceded from the Union all hell broke loose. Brother against brother, Father against son, Uncle against nephew. Why did the South leave you may ask? The South seceded because of slavery, political power, the differences in their way of life. Slavery was a major issue here in America.
