In the final scene, Prince Escalus absolves Friar Lawrence of all guilt, saying “we still have known thee for a holy man”(V, iii,281). I believe that Friar Lawrence is not responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death. Friar isn’t responsible because even if Friar disagreed to marry them, that wouldn’t have stopped their love. Second, the family feud is what caused all the deaths in the play. Third, it was part of Romeo and Juliet’s fault for not listening to the Friar’s warnings.
