A leader sees a follower’s capacity and strength to help accomplish the goal. Managers are more focus on measuring the achievement of the team. A manager makes sure the setting is appropriate to the meet the goal. A manager makes sure they have control of the situation. Leaders are innovators, always on the look to make a better way to reach their goals.
There are many traits that are needed to be applied when being a leader. Traits including confidence, courage, positivity, and many more are needed in order to be considered a good leader. A leader also needs to spread a positive message to people. They need to be someone who can be responsible and trusted by a large group of people. This generation and generations to come, learn from the previous leaders, as to not make their mistakes.
Leadership is a learned quality, which depends on the personality of the leaders, situation, task and the followers (Ganepola). Developing leadership skills can be managed by various activities. Being a good leader is a process. Practicing leadership skills, create an effective leader who achieves his or her goals by working together with an effective team. Hence, self-discovery helps to know more about the strengths and weaknesses of a person.
During Colonial times, there were women who attempted to make changes in colonies, three of them being Phyllis Wheatley, Anne Hutchinson, and Anne Bradstreet. All three women tried to set the example of a quality leader, but according to our class definition of what a leader is, “a leader must represent a group of people, they must not be afraid to take responsibility. They must be decisive and have confidence in their decisions. They provide a role model for the people under them by being trustworthy and having the motivation to make changes for the better. It is also important for a leader to show discipline so that order is kept and the people remain committed.
What values of a person makes that person a real good leader? A person who can encourage and tries to stay in a good mood with everyone? Or a leader who pursuit only what is right? As Machiavelli writes “ A leader should be feared rather than loved "if you cannot be both" in order to avoid a revolt”, explaining the qualities of a successful leader; implies a real leader is not always admired to the citizens, which in this case is repatriating aliens. Opinions based on this argument is likely to be divided into two.
“A leader takes people where they want to go. A great leader takes people where they don’t necessarily want to go, but ought to be” (Carter). Leadership is a very important quality or characteristic to have. Being a leader shows people that you have courage, honesty, and know how to manage. Leadership is giving people the confidence they need.
"A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way." Are people naturally inclined to look for a leader? When people look for a leader they must choose one who’s willing to do good instead of doing something to benefit themselves. However, if the leader that you 've chosen is benefiting themselves and doing something that doesn 't benefit the rest of the followers, you must either be your own leader or find one who 's willing to benefit both of you. On the other hand, a leader who is into benefiting both of you is someone who knows your goals and is trying to get you to achieve them.

They are transparent and let everyone know in a way that is seen as “real” and genuine. 4. The leader is the person who stands up to take that task, which shows their initiative trait of leadership. Leaders are selfless. Being a selfless person is a person who puts others desires or wishes before themselves. With this quote, it shows that leaders are selfless because it interprets that a leader must step back when a group or an organization is celebrating something that will happen positively.
