Dream-production mechanism tends to simulate stressful and threatening situations. By already experiencing a threat in a dream, we are at an advantage to perceive and avoid with threats in real life. (Trippitt slide, 14) “Treats encountered in recurrent dreams would be particularly dangerous; most of the time the treat was sufficiently severe to jeopardize the subjects life or physical wellbeing” (Antonio Zadra, Sophie Desjardins, Eric Marcotte, 10) in the readings it says that six of eight predictions were reported by subjects to test the treat simulation theory. Each subject kept a journal of their dreams, most of the dreams found that there was an escape route to be found. I found that when I am unable to escape a situation in my dream I just wake up, for example when I had a dream I was kidnapped I couldn’t get out so the dream ended with me waking up, I never figured out how to free myself, which is why I could remember vividly how the room was set up, I could have been observing my surroundings trying to figure out how to escape.
Can you remember the last dream you had? Maybe you could fly or were falling down an endless dark tunnel. Perhaps you were awakened by a horrific dream in the middle of the night. They are usually accompanied by muscle spasms and twitches of the entire body. Although these dreams occur while we are falling asleep, they interpret a completely different meaning.

He relived each moment of horror by writing it into a poem or short story. What Poe could have been suffering from was Sleep Paralysis that sometimes causes nightmares. What would happen is that a person would wake up suddenly; transitioning between being asleep and fully awake. This is often a horrible feeling that feels so real. Whereas the average
Eben Alexander makes an argument in his book “Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife.” According to Eben, you could experience an afterlife through a near death experience. Eben Alexander’s authority as a neurosurgeon describes his near death experience that will maybe help scientists and their theory of an afterlife. He argues that his shared experiences while he was in his seven day coma was not a form of an illusion. He wants to prove to everyone what he went through was real. I consider the genre of the book to be an autobiography.
“The extreme episodes of panicking and confusion, is best known as night terrors.” (Boringini) People who tend to have night terrors never remember what happened. Night terrors usually begin in the first one to two hours of a non-REM sleep. (Boringini) Night Terrors can occur due to these three reasons. One, stressful or traumatic life events. (Night Terrors) Two, the body deprives for sleep.
So thats repetition. In the raven the setting it is at his houses in the middle of the night. The author uses imagery when it is in the middle of the night and a bird flies in the window. The author uses repetition when the bird uses nevermore. The author makes the story really creepy because he uses setting, imagery, and
The poem’s title refers to the way people feel when their dreams are put their dreams to the side. When you think “What happens to a dream deferred?” It provokes a feeling of gloominess. The words “What happens,” makes the reader think in general what comes as a result from it.
They just need to wait until then, till their death to be accepted, normal and even then it will only be because they have been healed from their malfunctioning selves. Yet, I do not think that is how we are meant to see individuals with any “disorder”. The actual definition of schizophrenia is “a disorder that falls within one of the five domains: delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking
