Being fearless has an abundance of different meanings. There are many things people face in their lives where they have had to be fearless or even face their fears. Fear (definition): Something that vexes us to our very core, frightens us or prevents us from living a full, truly fulfilling life. Being fearless to me is having to take a leap of faith in life and trusting that things will go in the direction you need it too. Adam Brown was one of the most fearless men. He is one of the best definitions of being fearless. “I’m not afraid. God gave me this gift I don’t feel fear.” “That,” said Kelley, “terrified me.” Pg 219. Adam Brown is still one of the most fearless men in history. He strived to be the best he could be. When given a task he …show more content…
He strived to be the best man he could be. When given a task, he pushed through it without a single thought and did it. If Adam Brown had a motto it would have probably been “the people who learn to get over their fears, are the ones who tury into truly great people.” Being fearless, to me, is being bold. Boldness is something that takes time, effort, and confidence in yourself. Becoming fearless is an obstacle that stands in the way of most people’s dreams and goals. A lot of people are incapable of achieving their goals in fear of failure. Once you’ve beaten that barrier of fear, your full potential is achieved for the most part. After becoming fearless, you still have to push and shove towards your goals. Becoming more and more successful until you’re satisfied. Identifying your fears is the first step of becoming fearless and great. But, being fearless doesn’t always mean taking action in/towards your goals and dreams. Being fearless is also helping yourself in situations where you feel you have no hope. Trying to overcome depression and making yourself happy for a day is you becoming fearless of yourself and emotional obstacles. Being fearless is gaining power for your physical and emotional being. Adam was a God-fearing man who knew that his God-given gift of being fearless would help him do amazing
What is courage? The dictionary defines it as, “the ability to do something that frightens one”. But the belief that someone is doing something to frighten another seems inaccurate. We’ve all grown up knowing courage as an intangible fire that only comes from within and it helps guide you when you’re feeling doubtful or scared. This type of true courage is displayed by Piggy from the novel, Lord of the Flies, Martin Luther King Jr. in his Letter from Birmingham Jail and Tim O'Brien in the short story, On the Rainy River.
Courage Isn’t Relative As said by Dr. Robert Anthony, “[c]ourage is simply the willingness to be afraid and act anyway” (Brainyquote.com). This quote means that having courage is the ability to face your fear. Two people who share this trait, one fictional and one real, are Wiglaf from the epic poem Beowulf and Martin Luther King Jr. The first, Wiglaf, is a warrior who helps his king defeat a dragon. Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights activist who helped improve the lives of many African Americans.
Courage could be fearlessly throwing oneself towards danger, however courage could be when someone overcomes their fears and becomes a better person in the process. Courage could also be when someone faces their fears thinking of the worst outcomes, but still knows that they should hold their ground. Frederick Douglass In the “The Narrative Life of Frederick Douglass” and Henry in the Red Badge of Courage both showed courage. They both overcame their fears and did what was best for themselves and others.
What does it mean to brave? One aspect of bravery for me, is sacrificing everything you have and not being afraid to do anything. Bravery does not mean that a person has no emotion at all. Being brave means that you are afraid, but overcome that fear. Overcoming a specified fear gives a person courage and helps pass an obstacle.
Brown’s actions were similar to the Civil War itself, in that both of the events were violent and horrific in terms of human loss, while at the same time being fought for honourable reasons and resulting in good outcomes. This man truly did do “more in dying, than 100 men would in living.” This debate over John Brown has lasted over 150 years, simply because he is so difficult to put in a box - if we label him as a hero, we must accept that the use of violence can sometimes be justified, and that heroes can use terrorist tactics; and yet on the other hand, if we call him a terrorist, we devalue the importance of fighting for what is right. Situations such as these, that call into question society’s opinions of what is right or wrong, are so very important to consider as we evaluate the past, make decisions in the present, and construct the future, and help us become confident and active citizens in a world that sees so many heroes, terrorists, and, well, people that fall someplace in the
Fear may stop you from succeeding in life, but courage helps you fight past the fear and succeed. It is hard to act regardless of a fear ,but courage helps. But how do I get courage ? Do I have courage?
When diving deep into what it means to be fearless, you understand that just doing things without thinking of the
It’s All About How You Handle the Fear “Courage doesn’t mean you don’t get afraid. Courage means you don’t let fear stop you.” -Bethany Hamilton.
Shure being courageous isn't going to be fighting bears, climbing mountains and being a hero. Courage can be the little things to like having the balls to admit your wrong, or swallowing your pride to apologize to someone when you know you're wrong. Like honor their are a multitude of different scenarios in which one can be courageous. Well the definition of courage is the ability to do something that frightens one. Other people would say courage is a feeling inside that allows anyone to do what they want fear free. Chris McCandless had the type of courage where he had no fear but others did. He knew what he could accomplish and knowing that
Fear can leave you petrified, but hope is the greatest strength that you can possess and hope will always overpower
To be brave you could try sharing your thoughts and opinions or preaching what’s in your heart. It takes bravery to step out of your comfort zone; you make miscalculations and mistakes along the way and must learn the lessons they offer. Things like letting the past be the past and being able to follow your heart take as much bravery as standing up to the school bully or rushing into a burning building. There are copious ways to be brave in this world; you can stop a gunman or talk to a girl you like. The most important thing to remember is, bravery is not the absence of fear.
Robin Sharma once stated, “The fears you don’t face become your limits.” When Robin Sharma pleaded these words, she meant the fear you don’t face become your greatest challenge, until you face it. Many people are afraid of heights or flying, but once they face these fears, these people are one step closer to success. Avi drives closer to complete the theme of bravery is key.
Courage is defined as, the ability to do something that frightens one. Something that is outside your comfort, that is hard for you to do. You must be brave and daring, or in other words fearlessness. The action of courage can not only affect yourself but also the people you surround yourself with. These people are the people that show who you are and what you do.
