As humans, we have the ability to be happy, and to understand what makes us happy. So the question is, how can one accomplish being happy? The answer is simple, happiness is when an individual is able to complete what they set out to do. Those who set goals for themselves, tend to work hard so they can reach it. TED Talk Speakers Shawn Anchor, Dan Gilbert, and Dan Pink give a good insight on how one can be happier and more successful in life. Success and happiness seem to correlate and influence one another.
An individual’s happiness depends on them. “And if we change it, if we change our formula for happiness and success, we can change the way that we can then affect reality.”(Shawn Anchor) Everyone has their own definition of success. A
A professor of history at Florida State , Darrin M. McMahon, in his New York Times article, “In Pursuit of Unhappiness”, (11-29-2005) he persuades that happiness is a relentless desire to achieve if you find it on your own. the article written by McMahon he quotes that ”Those only are happy who have their minds fixed on some object other than their own happiness..”. He uses evidence to support his claim by using philosophers John Stuart mill and Carlyle quotes to prove that they all have similar views on how to achieve being happy and be cheerful. It's better to do something that makes you carefree rather than waiting for happiness to come “knocking at your door” as if you gain contentment as pure luck. Sometimes it is better to be bliss
True happiness is a world without books. Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury was written originally as a short story called "The Firemen" and was published by Galaxy Science fiction in 1950; he later expanded the story into a novel titled Fahrenheit 451 published in 1953. This novel is still astonishing, seeing that it was written in 1950 yet it talks about the technology we have today. Because of this novel we can see that we, as humans, can have an idea that can progress to something real and amazing. That we as people have great strengths and knowledge that we do not even know till we push are mind set to the limits.
success is not on your own terms, if it looks good to the world but does not feel good in your heart, it is not success at all.” ― Anna Quindlen. Success is something everyone has, to be successful in life, school, or any other thing. I want to be successful in school.
Arguably, the happier an individual is, the better the quality of their life, and the better off they are. But despite this, there are people who will even argue that lower levels of happiness are the best because you maintain the ability to progress in life and your motivation is still present. Although many people will only see two sides to this argument, there is a totally different view that provides the optimal quality of life and the most beneficial outcome in the big picture; and that is moderate happiness. Cliff Oxford’s essay “High Performance Happy” evaluates the effect that an individual’s happiness has on their beneficiality to society and how you should always strive to be the happiest you can be. Oxford’s main point is that
Lastly, I believe the last key to happiness if to look at everything in the most possible way. If you look at everything negative then you will never be truly happy and you won’t have very many people who wants to be around a Debby Downer. Being happy is a choice, as Abraham Lincoln said,” Most folks are happy as they make up their mind to be” you have every right to be happy, its just up to you to make it
Not many achieve happiness in their lifetime. Either they do not live long enough to witness it or they are not prepared for what their happiness is. Happiness is very subjective. Each person’s version of happiness is different. This version of happiness is universal.

In my essay I will be talk about how Chris work hard to pursue his dream jobs also how his stress affected his identity and how without stress u can not find happiness. In our world, people usually associate success with either money, money, or money. Success shouldn’t be about how much money we earn, how good our job is, or how famous we are. It should be about our own personal goals and aims in life. I think everyone’s definition of success is different. For each individual, success is something that makes them feel proud.
Happiness is all around you; it is not hard to seek because it is everywhere, but you can easily miss it if you don’t stop and enjoy it. The study of happiness goes back hundreds of years. Socrates studied it and discovered that through human effort happiness is attainable and teachable. Also, if the soul learns to redirect from physical pleasures to virtue, then it helps lead a person down the road to true happiness.
If your happy and you do what you’re supposed to do, then being happy will play a big part of how will you become successful. You can be happy to someone to brighten their day or just give somebody a compliment on how they look because it would make their day and that is success for a lot of people even including me. Being kind and happy to other people makes them happy and success plays in that part. Success doesn’t always mean a goal or something to achieve, happiness will open more doors for you in the future and now everyone loves happiness. If they don’t then they need to go to a mental therapist because happiness is the first way to become successful.
