A hero is a someone who is admired for their great or brave acts, someone willing to sacrifice themselves for the benefit of others. In society, heroes are the ones that face danger instead of running from it. A hero is someone who disregards their own well-being and puts those in need as their first priority, they are the ones that plainly do what is right even if no one else does or can.
To me a hero is someone who will do what is necessary to help those who are in a time of need and to keep people safe. A hero is someone who immediately stops what they are doing, to put their life on the line to save someone in danger. In Merriam Webster it defines a hero as, “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” To me, a hero needs no admiration or should acknowledge it at all. A hero should

In Why Heroes are Important by Scott LaBarge it mentions, “ A couple years ago the administrators of the Barron Prize for Young Heroes polled American teenagers and found only half could name a personal hero. Superman and Spiderman were named twice as often as Gandhi, Martin Luther King, or Lincoln. It is clear that our media make it all too easy for us to confuse celebrity with excellence; of the students who gave an answer, more than half named an athlete, a movie star, or a musician. One in ten named winners on American Idol as heroes.” This proves how our society mistreats the use of the word hero, although many athletes and actors donate charities, it’s very rare to find a celebrity today that can be defined as a hero. Heroes are people we aspire to be, today we should not strive for being what many call a “hero” like a rapper, but as someone who is a role model who stands up for what's wrong and needs changing such as Martin Luther King Jr. He was a hero because he was a light among others in that dark time and pulled the society together and lead them because he brought hope. That is what a real hero
Sure, I got time The Websters dictionary defines a hero as someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Heroes are ordinary people who find the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. They are the real heroes, and so are the families and friends who have stood by them. Maya Angelou stated, “I think a hero is any person really intent on making this world a better place for all people.”
No matter who someone's hero is one thing stays the same. A hero is someone that has strived to help out of their own will. Anyone could be a hero. However not everyone is a hero. Being a hero takes courage.
What is a hero? A hero is a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities. There are many people who meet the characteristics of a hero, but Chris McCandless is not one of them. There are many reasons that prove why McCandless does not meet the characteristics of a hero and there is many other people who do meet the criteria of a hero. My idea of a hero is a someone who takes on large tasks and shows great bravery in his/her character.
To me, a hero is someone who is admirable and does good things but isn't perfect. Ruby Bridges is a hero because she helped desegregate schools so all skin colors can go to any school and receive the same education as white people instead of only getting taught certain things. She managed to do it even when she had almost nobody supporting her and even with multiple people saying bad words and traumatizing her she still managed to carry out her idea and desegregate
A hero is someone who puts the needs of others before their own and works towards a greater
What are hero? Hero's are people that take risks. They make a difference in the world. People become a hero by helping people out. To become a hero you can save life.
A famous actor Christopher Reeve once said, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to preserve and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Being heroic does not always mean you’re special or well known. Since a hero shows determination, it drives them to help others and go beyond what’s expected of them. Heroes are people who go beyond expectations.
Jackie Robinson In my opinion I think a hero is a person that changes lives forever. My hero is Jackie Robinson because he is the first African American baseball player, first African American to win NL MVP, and the first African American to have his number retired. The first reason I think Jackie Robinson is a hero because he was the first African American to play baseball.
American actor Christopher Reeve once quoted, "A hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles" (Brainy Quote). Not only did he play a hero as Superman, he truly became one in his personal life. After becoming a quadriplegic Reeve became a spokesperson for people with spinal cord injuries. A hero is a person one admires because of the qualities and selfless actions they exemplify to overcome adversity and inspire others. Heroism is apparent in literature, history, and in our own life.
Heroes in our society are revered and respected as Joseph Campbell reminds us: “A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself” (Joseph Campbell). Heroes exist in all societies and throughout history. Maybe they are not always on the news or from the movies, but their words and their actions never fail to resonate across their feats. A hero gives of himself and dedicates himself to causes which better others and their society unlike individuals who are self serving, greedy, and cruel.
Hero “Heroes are ordinary people who make themselves extraordinary (Geraid Way).” A person who walks beside you on the sidewalk or smiles at you when you pass by them could be the hero that saves you when danger is present. A hero is an ordinary person who has extraordinary traits of acting quickly in a difficult situation, being determined to help any citizen in need and always steps up to help even if it means possibly getting injured. Heroes are people who will respond without hesitation when danger is upon them.
There are various approaches to describing a hero. There is also an infinite number of individuals who can be defined as heroes. A hero can be a person who demonstrates valor. A hero can be a champion. A hero can even save a life or even mankind.
“If you can tell me who your heroes are, I can tell you how you are going to turn out. It is really important to have the right heroes.” – Warren Buffet. Many people are looking for heroes in wrong places, and misunderstanding the term hero itself. Strength, bravery, courage, and honesty are the things most people think when the name hero pops.
To me, a hero is someone who gives everything they have to assure the happiness of others and a hero is also someone who gives up his life or her life so someone else could live. In all honesty, a hero isn’t really what we think a “hero” is based on definitions and what the movies or even comic books have told us. Anyone can be
Everyone has a personal hero, most recent arguments have introduced ideas of celebrities being the new hero, and some have wondered who is considered heroes today. Being a hero these days doesn’t mean you are someone with special powers, or someone that has saved lives, but anyone can be labeled a hero. The word hero is often used by young kids naming someone they appreciate or wish to be such as famous singers, actors, and sport players. What is a hero to everyone, is that hero really a hero, and who is really considered to be a hero? Celebrities such as singers, actors, and models, what are they to the people of the unknown?
