Joe and Biddy, on the contrary, stay at home and their personality stays the same: they’re always nice, kind, warm-hearted people. When we compare this to the play, we see that some figures hardly leave the house and they also don’t evolve as characters. Their view on life stays the approximately same the entire play. Next, the similarities: there are small and big ones. A small one is that in both books the surroundings are described in detail.
(Peate, 2016). Reflection is used endlessly in nursing to help nurses develop their own practice this allows continuous progress within the nursing community. Reflection is a method which is used in both good and bad experiences – authorising nurses to look back on what they did well in a situation in practice and what they could improve on if they were ever in the same scenario. I will also especially be exploring how Ethics influences Quality Nursing Care conveyance in this reflection. I can put all of this into practice myself when I start placement at the end of January.
For this assignment, Gibbs (1988) reflective framework will be used. Gibbs model reflects on six defined stages encouraging the nurse to think systematically, each stage provides structure and a methodical understanding of reflection throughout. Davies (2012) believes Gibbs reflective framework is an excellent example, one which is mainly used within health. Throughout this reflection my patient will be given anonymity using a false name to protect her identity and respect her confidentiality, she will be referred to as Mrs Glover (NMC Code, 2015). Mrs Glover is a young female of 26, who recently had bowel surgery, which has resulted in a stoma site being formed.
Unit 504: Develop Health and Safety and Risk Management Policies, Procedures and Practices in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People’s Settings. 1. 1.1 Explain the legislative framework for health, safety and risk management in the work setting In this unit I will give an explanation of the Laws and Legislations that myself as Team Leader and my colleges adhere and follow within our roles. At the care home I work within, we provide a safe and home like environment that is staffed on a rotated basis, 7 days a week. We support 7 clients with in the household all with various levels of ability.
I worked directly with patients diagnosed with various psychiatric illnesses in groups designed to assist in rehabilitation and teaching activities of daily living. In these groups I helped with a wide range of activities such as assisting the patients with stimulating crafts, and encouraging them to participate in exercises and games, and answered questions related to the activities. Continuing my volunteer experience with occupational therapists I worked at Encore, an assisted living and rehabilitation setting. Here I worked with geriatric clients with both neurological and orthopedic impairments. I also spent time volunteering at Therapeutic and Recreational Riding Center, Inc. working with an occupational therapist in facilitating Hippotherapy to incorporate equine movement into treatment.
A pleasurable aspect volunteering at the United Hebrew Nursing and Rehabilitation facility was the opportunity to see the patients actively involved in meaningful therapeutic activities. In keeping the same schedule for several weeks it allowed me to briefly follow certain clients rehabilitation regimes. It enabled me to gain an understanding of the role of an Occupational Therapist in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) and rehabilitation setting. Therefore, I found it interesting seeing the strategies implemented in the sessions, such as, home hazard assessment and interventions before the patient is discharged. For instance, placing items on the floor and asking a high functioning patient how/if they could pick up the items if home alone.
Role of Graduate Nurse in Informatics are: 1) computer generated nursing care plan for each patient. 2) reminder and prompts that appear during documentation to ensure comprehensive charting. 3) help as a communication aid to other health care professionals taking care of the same patient. For example, Electronic Health Record. The role of Advanced Practice Nurses and Registered Nurses are same in Informatics regarding accessing, protecting and documenting patients Electronic Health Record(EHR).
Both of these skills will help me to be a better physician. Description: Prior to shadowing a physician at a community health clinic, I had the chance to observe one of the clinic’s physician’s assistants for a day. Victoria, the PA, met with both existing and new patients, which helped expose me to different aspects of her practice. Her appointments included assessing a chronic thyroid condition, following up on previous treatments, and a full physical. I also had the chance to attend the clinic’s monthly staff meeting where a representative from the health department gave a presentation on a smoking cessation program.
A regular activity in which I partake in twice a week is working at Rouge Valley Centenary Hospital 's neonatal intensive care unit as a co-op student. While some of my work consists of organizing files, cleaning charts and restocking supplies, I often help run various clinics in pediatrics as well as labour and delivery. Some include non stress tests, breastfeeding clinics, Respiratory syncytial virus clinics and neonatal follow up clinics. Through this experience I have developed many skills such as effective communication, cultural sensitivity, resourcefulness and problem solving. Another activity I take part in weekly is peer mentoring, a program my school offers which allows younger students to seek assistance from senior students in academic, extracurricular and social needs.
I was so fortunate to witness and be involved in the care at hospitals there. Everything was so hands on from general surgery to Cesarean sections, to natural deliveries. I developed a sense of worth like I was able to make a difference in other people’s lives. I started to volunteer at the health centers on the weekends. I remember the people being so nice and trying to speak English and teach me Tagalog.
I am writing to you in support of Toye Adefioye. Toye Adefioye shadowed me at Daughters of Miriam, a skilled nursing facility in Clifton, New Jersey, from 08/2013 to 06/2014 for over 1500 hours. Toye observed me while I provide therapy to patients of various diagnoses; diagnoses such as general orthopedic, neurological, cardiovascular, wound management, geriatrics, and so on. During this time, He was able to recognize and differentiate facts, and distinguish relevant from irrelevant information. He effectively communicate through verbal, non-verbal, reading, writing and listening in persons and in groups.

Based on the case study on pages 36-37 of our text and looking at the individual and financial needs of Don and Mary, I feel that they should both live in Assisted Living Facilities. According to our textbook, Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) provides assistance and supervision of activities of daily living for 24-hour. It offers more independence and privacy, a greater choices of services, and more involvement of direct care workers. (McSweeney-Feld & Oetjen, 2012, p. 25). As their care needs change, they can also opt to live in a Continued Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) which according to the book are residential complexes for seniors that offers housing options and comprehensive nursing care with their changing needs.
It makes decisions based on complementary data that sourced from interviews of several representatives of the Standard Care (SC), Case Management (CM), and its IT departments. The CM department can gather information of all processes concerning the treatment, nursing, and after-treatment of the patients to perform better services for patients (Wulff et al., 2008). Concerning the new strategy implemented by RWTH Hospital, the margin between estimated bed time and actual bed time has been
Informing the client about available options regarding her health care, (Army) benefits, Medicare, food stamps, and how she is utilizing community resources. I would encourage that Mrs. Carla Washburn stay in contact with friends and family members to form supports that can assist her. She has very strong family values and spiritual guidance from her traditions. It is recommended that she find a home health provider or companion care resource that helps her with household tasks, transportation to doctor’s appointments, grocery stores, and church activities. Have a visiting nurse check in once a week to check how she is doing.
