Delphi Triangular Fuzzy Cognitive Map (DTFCM) A. Praveen Prakash, N.Vanathi Professor in Mathematics, Assistant professor in Mathematics, Hindustan University, KCG College of Technology, Chennai Chennai apraveenprakash@gmail.com Vanathi@kcgcollege.com Abstract: In this paper the new fuzzy model Delphi Triangular Fuzzy Cognitive Map (DTFCM) is introduced. Multiple experts’ opinion is collected and using Delphi method the decision matrices are combined and obtained as a triangular fuzzy matrix. Decision matrix with triangular fuzzy numbers is analysed by fuzzy cognitive map. In addition as a numerical example analysis of occupational hazards of traffic police due to noise pollution is analysed to demonstrate …show more content…
The Delphi method was explored in 1950 by the RAND Corporation (Dalkey, 1969)[6]. This method includes survey conducted in two or more rounds. After each round, the researcher will give the results of the previous round so that experts can review or retain their original answers. Questionnaires carried out separately and the experts do not know each other. This method is often perceived to create a better interaction within the group (Rowe, 1991). The Delphi Method has been widely used to obtain a constant flow of expert opinions through survey. Questions come from related literature and those recommended by experts. Murray et al.[9] proposed to apply the Fuzzy Delphi method to group decisions. This method is based on a similarity function to assess the level of agreement between experts. The Fuzzy Delphi Method has assured no misinterpretation of expert opinions since it considers the fuzziness that every survey process has to deal with. Thus, more objective evaluation factors can be determined through statistical analysis since the efficiency and quality of questionnaires are enhanced .Some of the more representative strengths of the Fuzzy Delphi Method are: time saving, fewer surveys, increased recovery rate, and guarantee of completeness and consistency of the group opinion .Generally speaking, the fuzzy Delphi method is better than the Delphi method because it has the following advantages: (i) Reducing number of surveys required (ii) By applying the fuzzy theory to clarify invertible fuzziness in interviews with experts to obtain more reasonable and proper responses (iii) Achieving higher economic effectiveness in time and costs required to conduct
The knowledge base consists of a collection of fuzzy if-then rules of the following form: $R^{l}$: if $x_1$ is $F_1^{l}$ and $x_2$ is $F_2^{l}$ and $ldots$ and $x_n$ is $F_n^{l}$, then is $G^{l},~l=1,2, cdots ,n$, where $x=[x_1,cdots,x_i]^{T}$ and $y$ are the FLS input and output, respectively. Fuzzy sets $F_i^{l}$ and $G^{l}$, associated with the fuzzy functions $mu_{{F_i}^{l}}(x_i)$ and $mu_{{G}^{l}}(y)$, respectively. $N$ is the rules inference number. \Through singleton function, center average defuzzification and product inference cite{shaocheng2000fuzzy}, the FLS can be expressed as: For any continuous function $f(x)$ defined on a compact set $Omegain R^n$, there exists a fuzzy system $y(x) = heta ^T

Le Guin’s “The Wave in the Mind” relates particularly to Marie de France’s “Bisclarvret” and “Yonec.” Both authors talk about oppression and the deep desire for freedom. Le Guins states he “categorically judge[s] as wrong any person who considers himself or herself racially or socially superior to another or enforces inferior status on another” (212). Similarly, on “Yonec” de France takes a position of opposition to seigneur of Carwent. This seigneur was honored in his city and therefore felt that he was superior to the young girl (91), enforcing her status of inferiority he obligated her to do whatever pleased him and she was imprisoned.
The fourth and possibly more important of the scientific method is to conduct the experiment. For this study they chose to do a longitudinal study, from 1976 to 2008 including both Nurses; Health Study I and II. The experiment involved a questionnaire that was sent out a very large sample pool of individuals. By having random questionnaires sent out it eliminates researcher bias one confounding variable. One problem with the random questionnaire for this study is that it did not reach a wide demographic because it only involved women.
If it is understood how parental incarceration affects children, adult imprisonment of these children may be preventable in the future. It is expected to observe a change in behavior or psychological health due to the absence of one or both parents. If a change is apparent, it would be useful to know if it was due to the incarceration or other factors. Despite the reason, the goal is to discover exactly how a parental incarceration affects the child’s future and whether or not they face a heightened risk of being incarcerated. Risks for children whose parent(s) had been incarcerated includes: increased delinquency and possible incarceration if it persists, aggression, physical or sexual abuse, depression, antisocial behavior, anxiety, trust
Psychologist Irving Janis explained some alarmingly bad decisions made by governments and businesses coined the term "groupthink”, which he called "fiascoes.” He was particularly drawn to situations where group pressure seemed to result in a fundamental failure to think. Therefore, Janis further analyzed that it is a quick and easy way to refer to a mode of thinking people engage in when they are deeply involved in a cohesive in-group, when the members ' striving for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative courses of action. According to Janis, groupthink is referred as the psychological drive for consensus at any cost that suppresses disagreement and prevents the appraisal of alternatives in cohesive decision-making groups.
One of the most common action that businesses as well as individuals needs to face on a daily basis is a decision making process. Some of the choices can be difficult, other very simple , yet no matter on the situation these choices can have a large impact on our future life. As we are all aware, conflict can occur very fast and easily, so for the same reason it is important to learn how to effectively deal with these kind of problems. There are many different techniques which we can use while reducing the tension , yet the six step model process is known as the most effective.
Information processing theory The information processing theory is a structure which rationalises how people obtain; process and store information and knowledge (Tangen & Borders 2017, p. 99). The Information processing theory involves the clinical reasoning cycle and the information processing model. The clinical reasoning cycle is a model which guides nurses and other health practitioners in making clinical judgements (Levett-Jones 2018, p. 4).
Research methods class was a course filled with information on how to collect data and complete research for a topic chosen. Throughout the course we learned different methods of data collection including surveys, interviews, and focus groups. As a part of this course, we learned how to design surveys. One important piece of designing surveys is to have one developed that does not have bias questions or answer
Prior research on the satisfaction of RTI has either been a qualitative or quantitative method, and in order to get the precise answers to those question a different approach was required. A method that would provide detailed information, and one that is a mixed method in the study to provide elaboration understanding of quantitative survey data with a qualitative data, from which the focus group would be interviewed. The quantitative and qualitative data would be collected concurrently using a convergent design. The purpose of this data is so that it can provide a data that is unbiased and complete. In the convergent design, both qualitative and quantitative data are collected, then the data are analyzed separately, and the two sources of data are combined for a precise interpretation to answer the previous
Without a formal procedure, the contributory factors to the process are difficult to conclude. Preferences and values of decision-makers vary and are inconsistent. The discussion may be hindered and the effectiveness of the model is limited (Guy,
Overall, I insist my support towards the group decision making among the teamwork because it is what I and my colleagues did. Everyone can feel the sense of belonging, commitment, comfortable and responsibility toward the work much
iii. Normally, this kind of discussion is conducted by a team of moderator and his or her assistant. In this study the researcher was the moderator. The moderator and his assistant welcomed the participants, oriented them to their seats and opened the session. The main role of the moderator was to generate to maximize respondents ‘opinions, thoughts and ideas in due time.
Since the spread of formal schooling and education in human societies, fostering cognitive abilities, such as understanding, reasoning, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving and judgment has been highlighted [1]. Problem-solving is an essential skill in today’s life [2]. Problem-solving is a goal-directed thinking [3]. It is a mental process, some logical, orderly, intellectual thinking that helps cope with problems, search several solutions and choose the best solution [4]. According to Moshirabadi, problem-solving is a systematic process and a problem-focused situation analysis that indicates the ability of individuals to overcome obstacles and to achieve goals.
The students selected came from three sections to avoid prejudice of their perceptions. In order to assure manageability of the collected data, the questionnaire only included multiple choice, checklist, Likert scale, ranking/rating questions and did not include open-ended response
