She found herself moving around the country often, spending months at a time without her husband. Naturally, most of her time was spent with her children: Beth, Arkansas; and Bill, a member of Pi Kappa Phi at the University of California, Berkeley. No matter where the family lived, there was always a welcoming Kappa alumnae association. Just as in her collegiate days when Betty served as Marshal, Membership Chairman and President of her chapter, she continued active engagement in alumnae associations. Through the years, she served as a member of House Board at the University of Southern California, chapter adviser at the University of Maryland, Province Director of Chapters, an original Regional Director of Alumnae, member of the Ethics and Values Task Force, Director of Alumnae and member of the Board of Trustees of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.

Good morning Hollie, It was a pleasure meeting you at Women Who Brunch this weekend. Thank you for considering purchasing an advertisement for the Ms. Phi Beta Sigma Scholarship Pageant at the University of Houston. In preparation for this pageant I have been challenging myself to explore service in ways I have not before by hosting empowerment projects in both the Chicago and Houston metropolitan areas. Just recently, I partnered with the Chicago clothing line, Almvghty to raise money for an anti violence youth program on the city 's south side. Since November, I have been leading a African American literature club with Project Row House 's Third Ward College Bound Program.

Dorcus Abercrombie contributes, “I met Trudy in 1979 or 1980 when I came to the Louis Gregory Institute to continue the teaching work I had been doing in Chicago. I stayed at the Institute for six months and went with Trudy to North Charleston where I met her mother and two of her children. I remember Trudy dancing, laughing and defending the downtrodden. She was a wonderful woman whom I love very much, a fellow Sagittarian. Trudy was our Teaching Coordinator at the time
There is something I want to share that I was privileged to enjoy these past two weeks. My son and I went to visit our family in Mt. Pleasant and Charleston, SC. We managed to see some of the historical sites from our lessons while we visited. My Aunt Laura is a Charleston native and is now retired from her job as a staff member where she worked at the White House (Democratic) for many years. The best thing about the trip was the visit because the area is so rich in history.
An interview with our former teacher Mrs. Sword, gave us a good understanding on how East TN has effected people today. This region really leaves an impact on the people that live here. She moved to the beach and worked there for a year, and missed East Tennessee too much. She wanted to come back, so she did. She volunteers for rhythm and roots, another big event that impacts society today.
In addition, I recently graduated from Lakewood High School, a school where most of the student body is white. There is a very small group of students that are usually left behind, the English as a Second Language. That 's why I decided to create a club that gives the ESL community a safe place to ensure their academic success. I also have a personal connection to women who suffer because of economic hardships. I decided to join the Girls Leadership Council, hosted by the Colorado Women 's Foundation.
I thought you might want to know since she was around you and the team, I hope no one else gets sick. She has practice with Jack Thursday night and Sunday afternoon. She will definitely be at practice next Monday and Wednesday after school to prepare for the Cameron meet.
