Her performance, much like Carlsen, was a joy to watch. She had the best performance of the show, tied with the side character of Gordia Hayes as Uncle Fester. Her facial expressions were deadpan when they needed to be, when she was talking to the little brother side character, and animated when called for, when she was talking to her parents or fiancé. Her voice was also the strongest in the show, having the most power for the love song ballads. Sweeney also showed a lot of talent when balancing the morbid curiosity that her family expects her to show when she is at home, and the happy and bouncing woman she appeared to be when with the fiancé character.
With her publicity and the performances she gave, people adored her more and more. She did promotional tours which were remarkably successful. That is when she got her nick name ‘The Empress of Blues’. She had a really strong and powerful voice filled with different kinds of emotions and her songs were never filled with absurdity but always had a story which many people found themselves. She was admired by almost everyone.
Taking place in Orange County, La Tocada Fest puts on a one day festival packed with some of the best Latin musicians. From Natalia LaFourcade’s effortlessly beautiful performance to Cafe Tacvba’s highly anticipated set, the festival was vibrant and colorful with the sound of Latin jams. With everyone speaking Spanish where you looked, I couldn’t help but feel like I was back in Mexico. The energetic and engaging crowds, as well overall fun attitude of everyone made it an incredibly enjoyable and refreshing experience. Girl Underground Music had the privilege of covering the fest over the weekend and we highlight some of our favorite performances.
She is extremely intelligent, knows what she wants and is one of the hardest working people I know and I look up to her and respect her so much! She's a great athlete and does a lot of her own stunts! I really think wire work is her favorite thing ever haha! On the alley sequence she was being yanked up in the air on a wire. She did it a few times and Paul Feig got what he needed so he said moving on, but Melissa was having so much fun she said they needed to do one more just so she could fly again :)
Diahann Carroll was able to bring her rich, gentle voice to a well known piece of music and make it her own, through subtle acting and a powerful emotional connection to the words she was singing. In the beginning of the song, Carroll has a low volume with a gentle voice. She may not need to project due to the range of the microphone (this is unknown to the viewer), but her voice carries regardless and holds a great resonation in not only her chest, but also in the room in which she is being recorded in. If her projection staggered any in the quieter beginning of the song she made up for it with superb and unique diction.
The 2015 Teen Choice Awards has become more meaningful as Rachel Platten graced the show with her moving performance. Put credits to both her touching track named Fight Song and undeniable stage presence, the crowd came to stand and clapping as they uttered the same lyrics being sung by the songstress up the stage. The 34-year old singer made it clear – do not ever give up and continue fighting in the face of struggle. The empowering message the song conveys must’ve been derived from the struggles she had personally and professionally.
I want to draw. And this moment, the imagination in my mind will become an active dancer. She dances so beautifully in my heart, and every dance step attracts all my attentions. I really enjoy the show and I pick the most attractive part to draw it down.
At the beginning of the story Liliana Heker shows that sometimes in life we have things that we want so badly. Like how Rosaura wants to go to the party. ”I’ll die if I don’t go,” she whispered, almost without moving her lips.” Liliana Heker uses this to show how badly she wants to go. Rosaura feels like the party can change her life, and she cares about it very much.
