A dental assistant is defined as a health professional who works closely with and under the supervision of a dentist. They assist the dentist during certain procedures as well as meet with patients. A couple of other job duties they preform are preparing the room for the patient, sterilizing and disinfecting equipment, and providing and laying out instruments for the patient’s procedure. Almost all dental assistants work in Dentist’s offices. Other jobs are Pharmacy Technicians, Physical Therapy Assistants and Aides, Surgical Technologists, and Medical Assistants.
