The Main Cause of Depression “There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.” ― Laurell K. Hamilton, Mistral's Kiss We people think it’s okay to bully someone, joke about their imperfections and/or disabilities and sometimes call them names that we knew could hurt them not physically but mentally and emotionally. Based on our survey and research we found out that there are five (5) causes of depression and this are family, love, peers, academics and bullying. Just from the word bully we all understand that it’s not a good thing. To joke about someone’s imperfection is cruel specially when your purpose is to humiliate this person in front of a big crowd. From our survey, the second highest cause of the students to be depressed is bullying. If you let this cause get into you, you’re not just mentally battered but also emotionally. To bully someone maybe okay at first but when you are always throwing that same statement all over again to that person he/she is already suffering from depression because you made him/her feel that way and there’s no way you can take back your words but to feel sorry for what you’ve done to that person because that person thinks that what you are saying is true that’s why “never take anything for granted” and even in bullying we could apply this quote cause we are blessed that we’re not in their shoes to experience
“Surely there is no more wretched sight than that of human body unloved and uncared for.” (Corrie ten Boom, The Hiding Place). We all breath the same air, come into this world equal, and yet every single one of us is different. Our humanity is multi-layered, and revolves around the fact that we can think freely and make choices of our own. The rest resides in our identity.
If only people could realize how bullying takes a toll on a person’s life, then we will know the reason why people bully, short and long term effects of bullying, and how bullying promotes a victims

Bullying is a phenomenon existing as long as humans exist. The fact that it didn’t have a name for years doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a widespread way of behavior, in cases where two different types of people were involved ; the strong and the weak ones. Although bullying is considered as a form of aggression, or in some cases as an infringement of the human rights, “bullying is commonly regarded as an aspect of aggression”. (Roland and Idsoe, 2001), there are significant differences between them , the most important of which that “bullying is different from peer conflict. It is conflict between individuals that do not share equal physical and / or psychological power.
Bullying is an undesirable, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves actual disparity of power. This only tells us that bullying can lead to difficulty that a certain children may experience and will have either short or long term problem. “Bullying has long been tolerated as a rite of passage among children and adolescents, but it has lasting, negative consequences and cannot simply be ignored.” Committee chair Frederick Rivera, MD.

The author explains some characteristic and consequences of bullying.
I say that it’s human nature, and you can’t fix that. As such, the current attempt at stopping bullying is not, and will not, work. What we need to do, is cut down our efforts. We have a lot of efforts, but that doesn’t mean that they’re good.
Multiple factors are attributed to depression in children and these include interpersonal relations, self-esteem or anxiety. Children need to engage in interactions with social groups. This is because the positive social interaction is significant for the psychological and physical well-being of a child. Children who experience peer interaction problems are likely to portray depression symptoms. Anxiety is closely linked to childhood depression.
Happiness, sadness and nervousness, all of these are emotions that every single person will feel the experience during his or her life, everyone experienced love and hate in their heart. Hate is an acquired feeling and not a genetic. People are never born with hate, but they learned it by the environment that surrounds them, by the outside world. But why do people hate? What is are the reasons that drives them to hate, why would someone want to have that kind of gloomy bad intention about someone, because that would turn people to be more violence, after all, violence can led to death in some causes.
The more the bully tortures the victim, the more his or her self-confidence declines. Victims may actually start to believe what the bully says and begin to think they are weak, worthless, and ugly. This may result for the victims to have social anxiety. Victims may isolate themselves from everyone, including friends and families. Having confident in you is very important and it allows us to be comfortable and enjoy life.
Bullying in Schools What seems fun and harmless for some students, is painful and degrading to others. Bullying has been a critical issue around schools, but before it was not as dangerous and know as it is now. These do not means bullying was not happening, it means it was not taken into consideration by parents or teachers. They thought it was just peer pressure or a kids game, and sooner or later the kids would be friends again. At one point, bullies think it’s normal to be mean and abusive to other students.
It 's not an easy task maintaining the pressure of school, friends, family and many more things and the effects from this are often confused with stress. Therefore, it is important that we pay close attention to our loved ones and talk to them to make sure they are not suffering from this horrible thing called “depression”. Many people suffer from depression and don 't actually know it and often ignore the situation. Depression may affect different people in different ways and there are many different cures for individuals who suffer. Addiction is the reliance on a routine. There are many addictive stages. Addiction, as it comes along, becomes a way of life. The persistent use of the substance causes to the user serious physical or psychological problems and dysfunctions in major areas of his or her life. The drug user continues to use substances and the compulsive behavior despite the harmful consequences, and tries to systematically avoid responsibility and reality, while he or she tends to isolate himself/herself from others because of guilt and pain (Angres, & Bettinardi-Angres, 2008).
Bullying is defined as repeated oppression, physical or psychological of a less powerful individual by a more powerful individual, people or group. It consists of three main types of abuse which are physical, verbal and emotional. Bullying in schools is a common and worldwide spread problem that can have critical and negative implications on the general school climate as well as on the right of students to study in a safe and secure environment without fear. Many people believe that bullying is part of life, happens in all schools and so it’s not an issue to worry about and that it lets individuals know what life is all about as it toughens them but in reality bullying is a detrimental problem that affects most school going children and teenagers physically, emotionally and socially.
