When he officially retired in 2014, he ranked sixth in MLB history with 3,465 hits.” Therefore,Derek Jeter is famous because of his unique feats as the H.S.Player of the Year New York Yankees shortstop and much more. Derek Jeter that setting high goals ,finding a good person to look up to, challenging yourself , not being afraid to fail and much more would get him to his status of what he is today.

He has a sister which is Sharlee Jeter but has no brother. Derek Jeter went to school at St. Augustine’s Elementary School, Kalamazoo Central High School and The University of Michigan. One experience Derek Jeter had as a child that shaped him was when his grandmother took him to see the Yankees play when he was 6 that started to make him think about the Yankees and baseball constantly. One problem Derek Jeter had in his life is when he suffered from an injury in his ankle that stayed for a while . How he solved that problem was by retiring the following year. According to the Washington Times, “‘It seemed like when he came back, he was fine and then he would play a couple of games and something would happen,’ Girardi said. ‘It seemed to be the repeated days seemed to get to him a little bit. That was frustrating for him. That was frustrating for all of us because we wanted him out there.
