When handling personal information, it is very important that the information is securely stored away, in order for it not to be misplaced. There are two ways in which information can be securely stored and they are as follows:

When filing information on a computer, you have to ensure that it has a ‘Password’. This password should only be accessed by members of staff that need to retrieve relevant information relating to a subject or individual.
When handling paper documentation, you have to ensure that the documents are filed and locked away in a secure cabinet, within an office that only staff are able to access.
