Her name is Joan Akob, formally known to her close friends as Jojo, was born in Cameroon in 1992. As a crawling toddler, she never dreamed she would be making a difference in people’s lives. She is currently in her final year studying BSC in dietetics at the University of Kwazulu- Natal, proving she not just a pretty face. ‘Annabel Lee’ by Edgar Allan Poe is an eminently beautiful yet tragic poem centred around the theme of a forbidden love between two people, and the many obstacles that they overcome in order to be together.
