Spring City--Jinan
Jinan is the capital of Shandong Province and known as the "Spring City", which is located in the west of central Shandong Province, south of Taishan. The second longest river in China--The Yellow River also flows through it. Jinan belongs to monsoon climate of medium latitudes, characterized by obvious monsoon and four distinct seasons, which is good for people living and number of population is 7 million 60 thousand. Next, I 'll introduce the landscape, food and culture of my city.
The three famous view spots in Jinan are Baotu Spring, Daming Lake and Thousand Buddha Mountain. If you come here to travel, you must visit the three places. Baotu Spring is most famous spring in "seventy-two spring" and called as "the world 's best spring". Baotu Spring park is located in the center of Jinan City, south of Thousand Buddha Mountain, east of the Quancheng Square and north of Daming Lake, which is a natural landscape park mainly with spring water. The Thousand Buddha Mountain is a hill located southeast of Jinan. According to historical records: it was called Thousand Buddha Mountain because buddhism prevails in Sui dynasty and devout buddhists carved a lot of statue of the buddha in the mountain. The thousand buddhas cave is a major scenic spots located in north Thousand Buddha Mountain, built in 1992, which contains the characteristics and essences of the four major grottoes that Dunhuang, Longmen, Maijishan and Yungang. The length of the cave is 500 meters, which records the changes of the history of chinese buddhism and contains profound cultural connotations. The busiest time of Thousand Buddha Mountain is in Double Ninth Festival because of the temple fair. Forest Acres is a community located in Richland County of Columbia, South Carolina. It is a community that was incorporated in the year 1935 near the waters of Dent’s Pond, now known as Forest Lake, due to John Hughes Cooper and James Henry Hammond both having real estate interests in the area. After Cooper purchased Dent’s Pond (Forest Lake) and 1,700 acres of land, Hammond purchased 67 acres from Cooper on Quinine Hill; developing it into a suburban area for local businessmen who worked in the downtown area. In order for Cooper and Hammond to name this location, a petition was signed by residents; voting on whether to name the area Forest Acres or Quinine Hill.
