Days at Tiny
We all have a special place we like visiting, whether nearby or far, but mine has been in my memory for as long as I can remember. Whenever the school year comes to an end, I can always imagine the scene. The hot sun glaring down on me from above, waves crashing melodically like drums, the natural feeling of the sand slipping between my toes. A place where it is impossible not to feel relaxed. Yes, Tiny Beach is my most loved place.
The beach is very unique when I compare it to other places one can visit. It’s distinct natural features stand out to me. The snaking sand dunes, long grasses standing resolutely, the towering and dramatic cliffs, and of course the bay itself. Me being able to spend a whole month in that relaxing and beautiful environment was something of a personal gift. By day I navigated the tricky, slippery rocks to reach the elusive End Rock, as I liked to call it. Once there I would sit for a while and reflect on life. I notice the numerous fishing boats and water-skiers zinging by. I’m perfectly content right here, thank you very much. I always made sure to make it back to the sandy bank to stretch out and enjoy the famous sunsets, painted by a huge artist in the sky. On these days I enjoyed my newly-gained independence by packing a lunch and numerous supplies for the day. The boiled eggs are hard to beat. By night, I came back to the small cottage to eat dinner and watch movies. Or sometimes I prefer to sit out on the porch and listen to the surrounding nature. Board games with family and friends were a mainstay for our stay, I always dominated in Monopoly. The cottage had a familiar musty smell that I still love to this day.
