They were friends from school and they live in the same place. Deborah mentions in the interview DEB: when I was, when I was a little girl we were inseparable [INT: yeah] but Charlotte was suffering from Cystic Fibrosis. So happen charlotte didn’t live long she died young when deborah was twenty two. she was a spoilt kid because the parents knew she was going to die young and she was not quite well kind of thing because of that Deborah use to stay over and sleep at Charlotte. When the inter viewer asked Deborah was Charlotte her best friend Deborah replied by saying special best friend , INT: yeah, yeah. So this friend that died, it sounded like it was like quite like a best… DEB: she was like my special best, best friend when we were young. they were still friends untill teenagers but then deborah mention in the interview they drifted apart, DEB and I suppose we drifted apart abit erm because sort of like, her mobility was stuck down like she couldn’t beath as much as whereas I started going out and meeting new people and going out alotand she was sort of couldn’t , but I always came back and she is my best mate you know [INT: yeah] , she was still my best friend [INT: yeah] and her mum, I’m still like, cos her mum knows what we were like her mum’s still dead close to me [INT: aw ] and still like comes around and sees me all the time and [INT: yeah] you know we talk about all our yesterdays kind of thing.
