The Smoky Mountains are amongst the oldest on earth, spanning the southern Appalachians along the border between Tennessee and North Carolina. The national park, known for its biodiversity, covers 800 square miles of mountainous terrain. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited national park that is why I planned my three-day excursion in late May to avoid crowds and the heat of the summer. May’s weather can be unpredictable as change can occur rapidly, so I brought rain gear and plan to dress in layers.
On May 4th, 2016, at approximately 9:30 p.m., I, Deputy Kyle Masters was dispatched to 16550 Ozark Trail in reference to a domestic. Upon arrival I made contact with Kathy Cook and Samuel Washington. Kathy and Samuel began arguing over who was going to take the dogs with them.
The article, What’s The Matter With Eastern Kentucky, by Annie Lowrey, eastern Kentucky is depicted as the hardest place to live in the country. In the article, she says that six of eastern Kentucky’s counties (Breathitt, Clay, Jackson, Lee, Leslie, and Magoffin) are ranked in the bottom ten counties in the country. These are coal counties and because of the recent political changes, coal counties have been povertized. The article mainly focuses on Clay County. There are many statistics about the downfall of the economy and the downfall of coal.
“It definitely helps bring some peace,” she said. “The quiet is soothing.” The family tries to take one non-camping trip a year, and they usually take some extended weekends to camp. They have had fun in places like the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee; Massanutten, Pa.; Daytona Beach, Fla., and Ponce de Leon Inlet, Fla., and Milwaukee.
The natural beauty of mountains can indeed be stunning and make for a memorable experience. The road trip to the
Performance Analysis of “Appalachian Journey” An analysis of the documentary “Appalachian Journey” by Alan Lomax proves that the musical performances featured are examples of traditional music. The songs performed used traditional music instruments and styles. Many songs were passed down through oral tradition, and many were stories of real events. The people of the appalachian mountains used banjo’s, guitars, and fiddles while singing throughout the documentary, including hand carved instruments and sound making toys.
If it weren’t for the “New Deal” programs in the 1930s, Tennessee’s State Park system would be unrecognizable and not one of the best in the United States (US). With the assistance of federal money and guidance, Tennessee has been able to create an integrated system of parks that capture the natural beauty and character of Tennessee while providing amazing outdoor public recreation activities. The programs helped establish state parks; influenced Tennessee’s governmental structure to ensure the vision of regional planning and interconnectivity continued; and developed a land planning strategy that is still used today. Visiting any one of the current 56 State Parks will provide an insight to Tennessee’s long history with the federal government.

William stared at Mary. The last thing he wanted to do was monitor the family planning practices of couples at Heritage Woods. William didn’t want to come right out and say it, but he hoped to God that the farmhands were using condoms. More mouths to feed on the estate promised to strain the finite resources the community produced. The community stemmed the influx of new farmhands, which meant the only new mouths to feed were newborn infants.
“Why am I doing this.” said Ron Tipton when he was walking the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. This is the question that pops up into everyone’s head when they are trying to complete the Appalachian Trail. Everything started off 10 days ago when Will Henderson decided to deter from the Appalachian Trail. He had been hiking all of his life, he is 39 years old, and is a part of the National Hiking Association. He had began his journey in Georgia and was unable to complete the trail but got all the way to Tennessee.
While I am sure you read this with your jaw slack at our survival we must put aside, for the moment, the welcomings and move on to the pressing issue that has had our great and growing nation in squabble and controversy these past two years, during which I have been away upon the beauty of our first defining investment. The splendor of this new world of our own is profound and awe inspiring, yet many, having not felt the crisp clear waters of the rivers, laid their eyes upon the dream-like falls of the Missouri, or breathed the air atop the Grand Rocky mountains, speak, without knowing its magnificence, of this entire ecosystem’s worth. I can asure any reader with the senses to hear the shuddering roar of the rapids, to feel the shivering cool of the clouds, and to see the staggering heights of the mountains, that no investment in our short history has been near equal in value to what Lewis, Clark, and myself have experienced in our expedition across The Louisiana Territory or the value of what is to come

I have decided to observe and study the effects that humans have on the Appalachian Trail. With so many hikers coming through year round, there will most definitely be traces of humans along the trail besides just trail markers and signs. Things such as trash, lost supplies or other items that may have adverse effects on the environment are likely to be seen on the trail, my goal is to clean these things up and at the same time get a better understanding of the true impact humans have on the trail. The Appalachian trail, while still relatively unfamiliar to me intrigues me. From as far back as I can remember, my family and I have been traveling up to New York to the Adirondack mountains to camp, hike, swim and so much more.
